The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works, of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said
Board, Monday July 20th, 1931, at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members of
said Board, Messrs, Ford and Schnieder being present. The following '
proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read.
The City Civil Engineer, reported the completion of contract for
furnishing and installing the necessary materials for strengthening
of the Doran Bridge, by W.D.Willson and Garfield Dixon, contractors.
The Board accepted the same and approved- claim of 41368.00 to said
contractors as per their bid received therefore.In the matter of petition by property owners in the vicinity of
South 6th & " 0" Street, praying that the existing sewer in outh 6th
Street, south of South "C" ?Street be abandoned between South "0" &
"E" Street and its water be diverted into the new relief sewer, now
being constructed; the City Civil Engineer reported, that he had in-
vestigated the matter and taken up the question with the contractor
G- as to the additional cost; the engineer reported that the contract-
or, would divert the water Into the new sewer at "C" Street, make
all the connections that now flow into the old sewer to connect with
the new sewer, without any additional cost to the city or property
owners, stating this will insure a flow of water in the new sewer at
all times and prevent stench from sahitagy sewage in dry weather, an4
recommended that the prayer of the petitioner's be granted. The Board
instruct the City Civil Engineer, to have said connections made with
the new sewer and to abandon the old sewer between the points as
above stated.
Claims in the amount of 48951. 93 were allowed.
