HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-13-1931 15 Office of Special Council Committee City of Richmond, Indiana, Monday_July 13th, _1931.The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Boar. Monday July 13th, 1931, at 9 "0 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board being present, the following proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read. Permission was granted Atlas Underwear Co. , to cut the curb, replace with driveway curb and cement sidewalk on north side of Elm Place between North 10th & llth Streets at Lots No. 332 to 337 Inc. E. Atarrs, Addition, The Board awarded contracts for the following coal, to-wit : " Shera Coal & Supply Co. , 150 tons N.& S. Ky. , Coal -® p4.CO ton. " Nieworhner-:ong Corp. , Poca. M.R. 50 tons, Parks @ 4 16 ton 11_ Taylor & Thompson, Coal Co. , 15 tons Poca M.R. Det .@ 4-+.96 ton In matter of R. Husselman, consulting engineer, the Board stated he has been employed to assist the city in the rate case pending before ice. the Public Service Commission only, and hopekthe city would not re- employ him in the future. The Board adjourned, to meet in round table discussion with the Com- mon Council as a committee of the whole, after the special session of council called for this P.M. The Board met with all the members of the commoncouncil, city attor - ey and Mayor at 8 P.M. in the office of said Boar . The question of entering into contract for boilers bid on last Febru- ary, was brought to their attention, 'the Mayor stating that while he was convinced the city could get , lower bids on said boilers than received last February, but in order to get things going at the Light I - Plant, he was willing to sign.: contract tentatively awarded to the Foster-Wheeler Co. , for the D. Connelly Boilers. After all the mem- bers of council present . (all members being present) had voiced their opinion in the matter, it was on motion decided to notify the 1 special council committee, to sign the contract awarding the same to the Foster-Wheeler Company; for the D. Connelly Boiler Cols. , boil- ers. The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of Richrnond, In. iana, met in adjourned session at the City Clerk 's office, Tuesday July 14th, 1931, all the members of said Board being present , the following proceedings were had, to-wit : The contract for two boilers at the Municipal Electric Lighting & Power Plant were presented, awarding the contract to the Foster- Wheeler Co. , for 2-1000 H.P. Boilers, made by the D. Connelly Boiler Co. ,which was approved and signed by the Mayor, Special Council Com- mittee and attested by the City Clerk.
