Citylof Richmond;. .Indiana, .rmet ,in -reguiar :session at the office of said Board Friday June 12th, 1931, at 9 o °clock A.M. All the 'members of said board, Messrs, Holzapfel, Ford and Schnieder being present , the fol- lowing proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meetings were approved as read. . The Board approved a primary assessment roll under Improvement Reso- lution No. 917-1931, for cement roadway in alley between South 10th • & 11th Street, from Park Place to South "B" Street. Upon the request of Iviayor W.B. Harris, the Mayor was authorized to employ R. Husselxnan consulting engineer, to assist the city in the rate case hearing of electric rates, before the Puolic Service Com- mission' of Indiana; said engineer to be paid" out of city light plant funds. The Board approved the Contract and Bond of W. D. Willson and Gar- field Dixon, under Improvement Resolution for repairing and strength- ening the Uor.an Bridge, under plans & specifications .adopted there- fore. Councilman Frank Shissler, presented a request signed by 8 other mem- bers of the Common Council, asking that the committee investigate with a view to purchasing three vacant lets on North 16th Street adjacent to the Colored Day Nursery, for the purpose of establishing ' a small park or playground for the children in that neighborhood; stating the three lots could be had for vel, 000.00; Mr. Shissler, also recommended that a small wading pool, a few slides, swings, etc. , for the enjoyment - of the children, be placed on the grounds; and that an electric light be placed at each corner of the grounds, together wit., the above was submitted a letter to Mr. Shissler, from 'W.G.Bate, sup ° . of Public Schools, endorsing the above rectuest . The Committee take the matter under advisement, for invest-igation of grounds, and ways and means to purchase the same. - • The questiof routing trucks and heavy hauling through the City was discussed; also the advisability of compelling said trucks if using Main Street, to drive along the right of way of street car tracks, the board decide to request an opinion of the City Attorney - • as to their rights in the matter.
