RESOLUTION NO. 23-102
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-
LOCKA, DIRECTING THE INTERIM CITY MANAGER TO RESPOND
TO "MEET ME MONDAY" CITIZEN INQUIRIES AND COMPLAINTS
WITHIN TEN (10) DAYS OF PRESENTATION; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, for several years, City Commissioner Joseph Kelley has conducted a
publicly noticed meeting on selected Mondays for residents and business owners to learn
about city, county and state governmental operations and also voice concerns on citywide
matters that impact quality of life issues within the City of Opa-Locka; and
WHEREAS, the noticed meetings are known as "Meet Me Monday" within the
City of Opa-Locka ("City"); and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires that complaints and inquires that are
shared at the "Meet Me Monday" community forums are responded to by city
administration within a reasonable time not to exceed ten (10) days; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that it is in the best interests of
the City to require the Interim City Manager to respond to "Meet Me Monday" citizen
inquiries and complaints within ten (10) days of presentation to the Interim City
Manager/ City Manager.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. RECITALS ADOPTED.
The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
SECTION 2. AUTHORIZATION
The City Commission of the City of Opa-Locka hereby directs the Interim City
Manager/City Manager to respond to "Meet Me Monday" citizen inquiries and
complaints within ten (10) days of presentation to the Interim City Manager/City
Manager.
SECTION 3. SCRIVENER'S ERRORS.
Sections of this Resolution may be renumbered or re -lettered and corrections of
typographical errors, which do not affect the intent of this Resolution may be
authorized by the Interim City Manager, following review by the City Attorney,
without need of public hearing, by filing a corrected copy of same with the City
Clerk.

LEGAL SUFFICIENCY:
SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE
This Resolution shall take effect upon the adoption and is subject to the approval
of the Governor or Governor's Designee.

Short Title:
A resolution of the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka directing the Interim City Manager to respond to
Meet Me Monday concerns within ten (10) days.
Staff Summary:
Meet Me Mondays is hosted by Commissioner Kelley on the second Monday of each month. This platform
allows residents and business owners to address any concerns they've encountered. It also is an opportunity
for the residents to receive updates and important information from the elected officials, City staff in various
departments and special guests. It is imperative to remain effective in the City's response to these items.
It is staff recommendation respond to the Meet Me Monday concerns within 25 days upon receipt of receiving
the concerns.
Financial Impact - There is no financial impact associated with this resolution.
Proposed Action:
It is recommended that the City Commission approve the legislation directing the Interim City Manager to
respond to Meet Me Monday concerns within ten (10) days of receipt of notification of these concerns.
