Friday May 29th, 1931.
The City Civil Engineer, .reported their was enough money available
in the appropriations to place the first coat of resurfacing on Main
Street from. WA, to 5th_ Street, and recommended that said first coat
be laid- this season, and left for the traffic to iron it out.; and
the finishing coat be laid next year. The Board aht d izeh- the City
Civil Engineer, to have the first coat of resurfacing applied this
year to 5th Street and if possible the same be taken to 4th Street, .
and the second or finishing coat be applied next year.
The Board received bids for the improvement of Doran Bridge as fol-
lows, to-wit : I/

Furnish & install 20 pair steel truss rodg & columns complete, accord

so as to furnish ._a thread' developing the full strength of the bar,

" Sam Jaffe Company, Richmond, 'Ind. ,
Furnish & install 20 pair steel truss rods & col. complete--w1475.00
" Pan-American Bridge Co. , New Castle, Indiana.
Furnish ' & install 20 pair steel truss rods & col. complete-41980.00
All bids referred to the City Civil Engineer, for investigation
and report at a- future meeting of Board.
Upon recommendation of Mr. D. C. Hess 'Sup 't . , of Light Plant, the
Board make a tentative award. of contract for boilers at Light Plant
to the D. Conne'W -Boiler ,Co. , of Cleveland, Ohio, subject to action
of the Public Service Com.iission of Indiana, in Standby and Hate
cases nowpending before said commission. •
vir. Hess, was authoriz-ed to proceed with the installation of plant .

Claims in amount of $3 i 287.32 were allowed. -

The Special Council Committee, Board of Works of the City of Richmond ,
• Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board,Moraday
June 1st, 1931, at 9 o 'clock A.M. Messrs, Ford & Schnieder present ,
Mr.Holzapfel, absent ; Two members of said Board being present , the
following proceedings were had, .to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read.

Upon recommendation of the City Civil Engineer, the contract for
repairs to Doran Bridge was awarded to Willson & Dixon of this City
at -price named in their bid submitted therefore, viz :---w1368.00.
An extension phone was ordered in the residence of Park Superintend-
ent at Glen Miller Park . - -
• .The Street Co,i-)1issioner was - ordered to mark and letter the street
across from North 5th Street Fire Stat ion. "No Parking Fire Depart-
ment" . •
Payrolls to June 1st, 1931 were approved.
