A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF GULF STREAM, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR AN APPOINTMENT TO FILL THE VACANCY IN THE MEM- BERSHIP OF THE TOWN COMMISSION FOR THE TOWN OF GULF STREAM, FLORIDA. WHEREAS, ALMIGHTY GOD, in His infinite wisdom, has seen fit to take from our midst the Honorable WILLIAM S. LaPORTE, as of April 230 1973; and WHEREAS, said WILLIAM S. LaPORTE has continuously served as Commissioner of the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida, since May 140 1960, and as Vice- 1,Iayor of said Town of Gulf Stream since Octo- ber 13, 1972, in an unselfish, efficient, devoted and loyal man- ner, all without compensation; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to fill the vacancy on the Town Com- mission in accordance with Section 6 of Article II, in Chapter 22306, Laws of the State of Florida, Special Acts of 1943, being the Town Charter Act for the Town of Gulf Stream, in Palm Beach County, Florida, AS AMENDED in May, 1951, by ACT of the Legisla- ture of the State of Florida, Chapter 27579 (House Bill No. 354) and in accordance with AMENDMENT thereof as provided by Act of the Legislature of the State of Florida, Chapter 29103 (House Bill No. 483), in May, 1953. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF GULF STREAM, FLORIDA: That, JOAN S. LaPORTE , a resident, voter and tax pay- er of the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida, be and is hereby appoint- ed Town Commissioner for the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida, to fill the vacancy, caused by the untimely departure of the honor- able William S. LaPorte, and that the term of office of said ap- pointed JOAN S. LaPORTE , is to continue until her suc- cessor has been duly qualified in accordance with the Charter of the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida, as AMENDED.
