Friday April 24th, 1931.

- - The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works, met in regular
session at the- office of said Committee, Friday April 24th, 1931, at
9 o ' clock A.M All the members of said- Committee, Messrs, Holzapfel,
Ford and Schnieder being present . The following proceedings- were
had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.

There being no petition filed, for the improving of South 16th Street
b0 paving- roadway with any other kind of pavement, that as designated
by the- Special Council Committee, the ten day period for- the filing
of such petitions having expired. The Committee awarded the contract
for the improvement of South 16th Street, by constructing cement side-
walks, curb, gutters, planting trees and paving the roadway with
surface treated water bound macadam, from South "E" to "H" Street as
°' provided under Improvement Resolution No. 18-1 3 - to W. L. Magaw

at prices named in his bid on said improvement , on April 10th, 1i31.
The Committee- awarded the contract for furnishing and applying on
the city streets, during the season of 1931, ;-0,000 gallons more or
less of Asphalt and 15, 000 gallons more or less of Tar, to
Pariar?i :Co. , inc: , at prices named in their bid submitted April 17th

The Committee awarded the contract to W. - E . MaWbinney Co oany, for
One new 1931 Model A Ford .light :delivery_ .automobile with steel Ford
closed cab• and open pick-up body, fully equiped at price named in
their bid submitted April 20th, 1931, i. e. ; 505.00 less $40.00
allowance on old .1927 Ford Model T pick-up body, net4465.00.
The Committee transfer the agreement of J . Addison to Wm. Johnso i_,
to use city 's ground on Newians Hill for garden purposes, during
the season of 1931, said Johnson to keep the grounds free from weeds
and noxious growths of any kind.
The Street Co.-rmissioner, was authorized to extend the sewer at the
foot of North " C" Street, to the river.
Various complaints from council were received and referred to proper
departments, excepting the placing of cinders on Newmans Hill road-
ways, which was taken under advisement for investigation.
The Committee Received bids, for the conatruction of what is known as
the South"B" Street relief sewer, under Improvement Resolution No.
914-1930, as follows, to-wit :
