The Spoial Council Committee, Board... of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of the Mayor of said City, Friday April 17th, 1931, at 9 oeclock A. M. All the Members of said Committee, Messrs, Holzapfel, Ford and Schnied- er being present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved. The Committee entered into contract with J . R. Fallon, archi- tect, whereas said Fallon is to do all the preliminary work & planning necessary to make up prb;.iminary drawings, specifi- cations and estimates, and to all the architectural work in connection with the re-building and repairing the Light Plant office building located at No. 32 South 8th Street, for the sum of 415.00 per day for the actual time he is engaged in baid preliminary work, if it is decided to proceed with the work, . then said Fallon agrees' to make finished plans & specifications and to do all other necessary work, to make it possible to re- ceive bids, for this work the said Fallon will make a charge of 3% of the total cost of the improvements to the building only percentage not to be applied to the cost of electrical fixtures and furnishings that will go into the new bailding project . The amount paid for the preliminary work shall be deducted from the 3% amount . The said Fallon further agrees to superintend and look after the work while in progress, for an amount equal • to 2% of the total cost of improvements to the building only, said percentage not ,to_be.:.a plied to electrical fixtures and furnishings. ( See contract ) The Committee received bids for furnishing and installing new window shades for 32 Windows in the up-stairs of the city Bldg. , as follows, to-wit : " The Homey Furnirure Company, bid; Machine Oil Shades complete installed • ; 27. ,S0 Hand made oil shades complete installed 7. 14 Unfilled shades complete installed -- 42.46 " Weiss Furniture Store, bid; Handmade oil shades 440.00 Niagra Waterproof shades 52. 00 " The Geo. H. Knollenberg Conlpany,bid; Carmargo Handmade unfilled cloth 0-5.00 Toutine Washable cloth o5.00 " The Furniture Store, bid; Victor unfilled fabric 444.80 Gilbralter shading the best money can buy 60.85 The committee award the contract for the 32 window shades to The Homey Furniture Company, for the unfilled shades at bid price of 442.46 complete installed. The Committee award contract to Richmond Plumbing Store, to in- stall new steam return line in Police Garage, in vitrified tile with all joints cemented, at *13. 50, bricks to be replaced by the Street Commissioners Department . Friday April 17th, 1931. 507 The Committee received bids for furnishing and applying -;-0,000 gallons more or less of Asphalt and 15, 000 gallons more or less of Tar on the streets of the city during the season of 1931 as follows, to-wit : " Herbert Lyons, Portland, Indiana, bid: Asphalt A-2 furnish and apply ; 0.0&/63 per gal. A.1.l -bids were refferred to City Civil Engineer for tabulation investigation and report. . The recommendation of Fire Chief Harry Williams, recommending the installation of seventeen additional fire hydrants at various locations over the city, was received and taken under advisement for investigation.
