HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-06-1931 Office of Special Council Committee ��� City of Richmond, Indiana, Friday March 6th, 1931. The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at. their office on Friday March oth, 1931 at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members of said Committee, Messrs, Fahlsing, Ford and Schnieder being present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit : • The Committee received through Harold Coleman, Sup 't . , of Parks, I/ a proposal from The Business. and Professional Women 's Club of this City, agreeing to donate the sum of 0.00.00 to the city, for the payment of the necessary materials in constructing an oven and shelter house on the hill northeast of the iron springs in Glen Miller Park, • the necessary labor to be furnished by7the City. The proposal was unanimously accepted 'by the Board, and the clerk directed to notify Nella H. Rakke, Chairman of their committee of such acceptance. . Notice of hearing on the petition of E. W. Stout Receiver for TH.& E Traction Co. , for authority to abandon further operation of eastern division of said company between Indianapolis and Richmond, hearing to be held at State House. Indianapolis, Ind. , March 24th, 1931 at 10 o 'clock A.M. placed on file. The City Attorney, notify the Committee that the Public Service Com- mission of Indiana, had nixed April 20th & 21st, 1931, at 10 o 'clock A.M. as tentative date for. hearing the petitions of the Richmona Mfgs Assn. ,vs, the City of Richmond, in matter of Standby Electric Service and reduction of rates for electric current, hearing to be held in Richmond, Indiana. The Street Commissioner was instructed to mark the west side of North 9th Street, to stop parking of automobiles from North "E" Street to a. point seven cement block south of said "E" Street ; also, to have plank removed from. the gutters in South 7th Street south of the Colonial Annex Building; also to dump any good materials along both siaes of e'fest Main_ Street, along property owned by the City, prepara- tory to future paving and sidewalks along said street. The clerk was directed to request Mr. . Hess Sup 't . , of Light Plant to allow Gus Oberle to figure on work of moving of heavy machinery etc. , in an effort to divide such work between Mr. Oberle and Dixon, and snot continually give all such work to one person. Claims in amount of k35, 320. 11 were allowed. The Special Council Committee then adjourned, I/ v' P r e s t. , Attest : Clerk of Board The Committee order a car load of W.Va.N. &_ S.
