Monday February 16th, 1931.
The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works, of the
City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at their office
Monday February 16th, 1931, at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members
of said Committee, Messrs; Fahlsing, Ford and Schnieder, being
present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.
Appriasers, Thomas Turner, Garfield Dixon and Howard Gluys, V ;ti
appointed by the Judge of Wayne County, Indiana, Circuit Court
to appraise one 750 H.P.Boiler used at the Municipal Electric V
Lighting & Power Plant with a view of selling .the same, appraise
and fix the value of said Boiler @ $4, 500.00 f.o.b cars, Rich-
mond, Indiana.
Mr. Schnieder, called attention to numerous complaints made that
the bell on No. 4 Fire Station is not rung, at time of receiv- V
ing an alarm of fire, and the question is frequently raised
that the bell should be rung on the alarm of fire, to enable
drivers, etc. , to take warning that they may be enabled to drive
to a place of safety. Referred to Department of Public Safety.
The Committee allowed claims in amount of 48834-. 70, and approved
the various city payrolls to February 16th, 1931.
Pursuant to advertisement, the Committee received bids for the
following. equipment for the Municipal Electric Lighting & Power
Plant as follows, to-wit :
ftein 1 - Two 1000 H.P. Bent Water Tube Boilers with Superheating
Coils, Air Preheaters, Soot Blowers and Water Walls.
Item 2 - Price per hour less living expenses for erecting engine-
er to superintend the setting of equipment set forth
under Item 1.
Item 3 — One 200,000# of water per hour Deaerating Feed Water
Heater.
Item 4 — Two Ventura Stacks for 1000 H.P. Boilers complete with
Induced Draft Fan and Motor Drive, as follows to-wit :
