The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at their office on Monday February 9th,. 1931 at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members 'of said Committee, Messrs, Fahlsing, Ford and Schnieder being present. the following proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved. Whereas, the City of Richmond, Indiana, is receiving tree labor of numerous persons un-employed, registered with and receiving aid from Wayne Township Trustee, at no expense to the City, and as the method of registering these un-employed by the township entails the additional expense of an extra clerk, which the Town- ship Trustee requests the city to pay. The Committee is of the opinion that as the city is receiving from 35 to 50 men by the Street & dark Departments at no cost to the city, it is right & proper that the city should pay for the hire of the . additional clerk, and thereupon decide that such clerk be paid from the ap- propriations. of said departments, 2/3rds. to be charged to the Street Department payroll an& 1/3rd to the Park payroll, at an approxikatE total cost to the city of $2. 50 per day. • The Committee met to hear remonstrances if any, of all persons interested or whose property is affected by the vacation of 20ft. off of the north side of Parry Street, from South 9th to 13th Street, as provided under Declaratory Resolution No. 246-1931. • No one appearing and no remonstrance having been filed against said vacation.. The Committee being duly advised in the premises, the committee take action on said resolution confirming, without modification, all former action taken on the same, and now order . ' a list or roll be prepared of all owners or holders of property and of valuable interests therein, sought to be taken or to be injuriously affected, which list or roll shall also describe the property beneficially affected, and decide that the benefits & . damages for said vacation are equal, no benefits and no damages to the property owners. The Committee unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No.918-1931 for improvement of South 16th Street, by constructing cement side- walks,.& G. planting trees,on both sides thereof, & paving the roadway with either re-inforced concrete, sheet asphalt, rock-asphalt or bituminous retread macadam, from South "E" to "H" Street, and to makeaThiiprivate connections and bring the same inside the curb lines of sewers, gas, water and like conveiences, where not al- ready made at the expense of the abutting property. The Clerk was directed to notify the owners of property on east side of SW.10th Street, Lot No. 46 & 45, to clean the mud from sidewalks in front of said lots. claims in amount of 980.E+6 were allowed.
