HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-06-1931 Office of Special Council Committee 485 City of Richmond, Indiana, Friday February 6th, 1931. The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at their office on Friday February 6th, 1931,, at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members of • said Committee, Messrs, rahlsing, Ford and Schnieder being present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit : IIThe minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read. A petition was presented for the improvement of South 16th Street, by constructing cement sidewalks, curb & gutter on ooth sides of • street, grading and paving the roadway with one of the modern city pavements, from South "E" to "H" Street, which was referred to the Engineer for plans, specifications, resolution, etc. , The matter of the condition of railroad crossing School Street at G. R. & I . Railroad, was referred to Street Commissioner and City Engineer for investigation and report. Complaints of Councilman Waltermann, as to leaky garbage wagons, and labor from out of city being employed at Light Plant, was re- ceived and- taken under advisement for investigation. The City Attorney, was instructed to file a petition with the Public Service Commission of Indiana, requesting that the City of Richmond • be granted permission to use the money in the DepreeN4on Fund of the Municipal Electric Lighting & Power Plant of said City, for the purchase of new machinery & equipment at said plant, as per reso- lution adopted by the Special Council Committee.- The Committee approved contract for furnishing the necessary Trans- formers to the Light Plant for the year ending January 29th, 1932. The Clerk was instructed to communicate with Joseph H. Hill, and request him to have abstract & deed up to date prepared and submit the same to City Attorney Shiveley, for investigation and report. The committee was notified, of the leaky condition of faucet in city property at 616 North 10th Street, referred to Mr. Fahlsing for investigation and repair.
