Monday January 12th, 1951.
The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of
said Committee, Monday January 12th, 1931 at 9 o 'clock A. M.
All the .:£embers of said Uo •iiittee, Messrs, Fahlsin.g, Cora and
Schnieder being present . The following proceedings were had,viz :
The minutes of the nr'eceed.ing meeting were read and aperoved. •
Permission was given to Chas. Joha.nninz to cut the curb at vacat-
ed South 6th Street , on south side of South "L" Str'eet .
Whereas, j u.dgment has been rendered 2_ ;a.inst the City, in 'CVevne
Circuit Court in case of Bessie Hilling V. S . City, in sum of •
41750. 00 and costs, and anotteisuit is pending. upon the recom-
mendation and advice of City Attorney, Clarence M. Brown. The
Board take the fol _owing action thereon, to-wit :
In full compromise and settlement of two suits in the Wayne
Circuit Court, one by Bessie Hilling in which a judgment was
rendered against the City of Richmond upon a\verdict by a jury
for 41750. 00 and costs; and the other by Jessie Hilling against
the the City for costs and expenses and damages:co his wife,
Bessie Hillimg, said suit being for the sum of '4 5, 00.00 these
cases are compromised on the basis of the City paying the sum
of 5-;500.00 and one-half of the Court costs, and. Henry Lutter-
meiste-r the abutting property owner paying the sum of ,; 2500 00
and one-half of the Couri, costs . The Court costs amounting to
0.5. 50. one-half equals . 57. 75. The City having;-' maid 'ri il�0.00 of
r
said costs, the Committee approve a claim in sum of V527. 75,
as their portion in the above cases .
The Committee received bids for three closed automooiles for use
of Police Department as follows, to-wit : •

The Special Council Committee then adjourned,
