Friday January 2nd, 1931.
The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said
Committee Friday January 2nd, 1931, at 9 o 'clock A. :tli. All the
members of said Committee, Messrs, Fahlsing, Ford and Schnieder
being present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read.
Upon the recommendation of B. C. . Hess, Sup 't . , of M.E.L. & P .P.
all bids received for fans for use at cooling tower on December 5th
were rejected, and the clerk instructed to re-advertise. for bids
on said fans, bids to oe received January 19, 1 31,-10 A.M.
The Board instructed the clerk to prepare ordinance for appropriat-
- ing the sum of ti300, 000. 00 out of the Light Plant Funds, for pur-
chase of two new °oilers, heaters, stokers, stack and necessary
auxiliary equipment, materials and labor for complete installation
of same.
The Committee an y recommend 'that the City purchase the
tract of ground adjacent to Glen Miller Park, consisting of nine
acres more or less known as the Lemon ' s Green house, as additional
Park ground at price of 20, 000. 00., and direct that an ordinance
. appropriating 420, 000. 00 be prepared and submitted to the Common
Council to cover the cost of such purchase, for thewconsideration
and action thereon. Mx. Schnieder opposing said purchase.
