City of Richmond, Indiana,
Monday December 29th, 1930.
The Special Council Committee, Board of Public Works of the City
• of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of
said Committee Monday December 29th, 1930, at 9 o ' clock A. Li!.
All the members of said Commiittee, Messrs, Fehlsing, Ford and
Schnieder being present . The following proceedings were had, viz :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were reed and approved.
Notice from Purdue University, Lafayette, Indiana, of the 17th
annual Purdue Road School, to be held Jan. 19 - 23, 1931 at said
University was received, and Street Commissioner- and City Civil
Engineer, were granted permission to attend said school, the City
to pay their legitLmate expenses;
Upon the recommendation of the Board of Public Health & Charities
the Special Council Committee, awarded the contract for the col-
lection, removal and disposal of the garbage and dead animals in
City for the period ' of four years till, 715. 00 per year, and fix
his bond at $+7, 000.00, for the first year the same to be decreased
. till, 715.00 each year to the end of said contract .; to Harry K.
Shute, as .per bid received therefore.
The Committee received. oids for Automobile Coupe, for use of Parks
as follows, to-wit :
" E. H. Gilcrest, inc. , bid;
' One Plymouth Coupe, complete--- 4 545.00
" W. E. McWhinney Company, bid; _
One Ford Model" U Standard Coupe, complete ;i5(1'_, ���
" Brinker &- Shendler, bid;
One Six cylinder iJillys Six Coupe, complete $600.00
The bid of E.H.Gilcrest, inc . , being the lowest, the Committee
award the. contract for Plymouth Coupe at price named.
The Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for Truck for the
Street Department , under specifications to be prepared by Street
Com_"isslone"r.

Whereas, invoices for gasoline, oil, repairs and rental of auto-
mosiles- for Police Department and City Light Plant , are being
continually presented for approval of the Committee, the Special
Committee, rule that in the future they will refuse to approve .
such expenditures, and clerk was directed to notify the Police
Commissioners and Light Plant p 't . , of this ruling,, that they
may be governed accordingly.
Claims in amount of $l0, 747. 99 were allowed and ordered paid.
The Special Council Committee
then adjourned,
