HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-14-1930 Office of Special Council Committee City of Richmond, Indiana, Friday November l4th,1930. The Special Council Committee, acting Board of Public Works of the Cit*y of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at its office Friday November 14th, 1930, at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members of said Committee, Messrs, Fahlsing, Ford and Schnieder being present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved. Howard Wagner, was granted permission to tap sewer at manhole in al ' east of Northwest 5th Street and south of Linden Avenue, to connect house drain on Lot 8, P. & L. Out-lots, Lot "D" Official Map, upon his paying to the City $10.00 for said permission and to sign the proper agreernents, ,not to remonstrate against future sewers or the assessment therefore, which may be made against said property. The Clerk was directed to notify Dr. M. F.Johnston, Secy, that the committee had fixed Tuesday November 18th at 7.30 P.M. as date of meeting with the Board of Health, to consider the specifications on the .collection and disposal of garbage, meeting to be held in Board of Works office. A committee from the Retail Merchants Association, appeared before the '2v. ,far Committee, requesting that the city follow the usual custom by co-Operating with the association, in matter of lighting the business sections of city during the holiday season, on motion the Sup °t. , of Light Plant was instructed to install said lights and decorations and the City would stand their share of same. The .Committee 'received bids for furnishing Automobile Coupes, for the Dairy Inspector and Sealer of Weights & Measures as follows; H W. E. McWhinney Company, bid; Ford Model "A" Standard Coupe fullyequipped 5 wheels, extra tire tube & cover, with well fender-$57 . 50-less 40.00 for old auto. " E. H. Gilcrest, Inc. , bid; Plymouth Loupe 0640.00 less $60.00 old auto. $580.00 or if city purchases two cars, $1280.00 less $150.00 net. $1130.00, The bid of WE.McWhinney Co. , for furnishing both cars for i1149.00 _ less $80.00 for old cars or a net bid of 01069.00, being the lowest bid received, the Committee award the contract to W.E.Mcauhinney Co. , The Committee conferred with Geo. Hamilton Prest . Police Board, in matter of purchase of gasoline for Police Department, which was taken under advisement for further information.
