The Special Committe of Council acting as Board. of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at the office Friday .Oct 24thy1930,at 9 oclock A.M. Louis E.Fahlsing, President Albert J.Ford and William H.Schneider. All the members of said Special Committee being present the following proceedings were i I had to .wit: The minutes of the proceeding meeting were approved as read. The Special Committee there in order to facilitate and take care of the various matters, apportion their respective duties as follows : Mr Fahlsing to have charge of the: Municipal Electric Lin_gting and Power Plant. Mr Ford to have charge of Streets,Alleys,Sewers etc : Mr Schneider to have charge of Public Buildings,grounds,parks etc. It being understood that no one person can act for the whole Special Committee; in matters of any importance . The Special Committee approved a primary assessment roll under Improvement Resolution No 915,1930, for the improvement of South 10th street, by erecting and installing street lightsystem and light posts on both sides of said street,from South C.to E.street: Also assessment roll under Improvement Resolution No 911-1930, for the Improvement of South 20th street, by constructing cement sidewalk, curb & gutter and paving the roadway with bituminous retread macadam, from South A.street to a point south where the street has already been improved, A petition was received from E.A;Maraini and others for the vacation of alley running east and west on South 2nd street between Lots 4 & 5, S. .Yiiggins, Addition and alley west of Lot 4. Also a petition for the opening of alley along the north line of Lot 4,running east & west on South 2nd street,S.R.Wiggins, Add. Both Petitions were laid over until Monday Oct .27th.1930 to give , Special Committee time t.o investigate before any action be taken. The City Clerk was directed to Advertize for Bids for an Oil- Burning Maintenance Kettle for use of the Street Department. The City Clerk was directed to notify D..C.Hess, Supt of Light Plant to keep the Electric Lights in Glen Miller Park burning until 11.30 P.M. instead of 11.00 oclock.
