The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in adjourned session in the office of the Board of Public Works, Friday October 17h 1930, at 9 o 'clock A.M. His Honor W. B. Harris Mayor of said City presiding. The following members of the common council being present Messrs, Benn, Crabb, Fahlsing, Ford, Holzapfel, Hodgin, Schnieder & Walterinann; absent, Messrs, Brehm, Evans, Shissler and Williams. Eight members of the common council being present . The following proceed- ings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as corrected. The City Attorney advised that the minutes be corrected to show the meetings of the council, stating that while the Council are perform- ing the duties pertaining to a Board of Public Works, the±e is no Board of Public Works since its abolishment by council, therefore the minutes should be corrected to read as adjourned meeting of the Com- mon Council, on motion the Clerk was directed to make the proper corrections as suggested by the City-Attorney. The Council unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 916-1930 . providing for the improvement of North 10th Street, by the erection of. Light -Post System, from North "F" Street to north corporation of City, as provided under Section 138, of Indiana I'aws. In matter of petition of Charles Heashey, to install gasoline pumps at Nilliamsburg Pike, Ridge & Brenner Streets, the committee report- ed the permission be not granted, report concurred in by council. The City Attorney was directed to appear for the City in matter of vacation of the alley between South 9th & 10th Street, from Main St south to 1st alley running east & west, opposing said vacation, in oehalf of the City of Richmond, Indiana. Fire Chief Miller, recommended an ordinance eliminating the parking in Ft. Wayne Ave. , from Main to North "C" Street on both sides of street, re-striating the parking to one side of the street only. City Attorney -was directed to draft -a resolution or letter of condol- • once to former Mayor L.A.Handley and family on death of his wife. Upon recommendation of .Mayor Harris; it was decided by council, that Dairy Inspector Ora Wilson, be authorized to attend the convention • to be held at Cleveland, Ohio, Oct. 20 & 21, 1930, at the expense of the City, if available appropriation .to cover the cost of expense can be found, y • tayrolls to October . 17th, were allowed; Claims in amount of 412, 6 52 .37 were- allowed and ordered paid.
