Friday October 3rd, 1930.
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
session in the Office of Board of Public Works, as a Board of Pub-
lic Works of said .City, at 9 cio 'clock A.M. October 3rd, 1930, His
Honor W.B.Harris Mayor said City presiding, Messrs, Brehill, . Crabb,
Fahlsing, Ford, Hodgin, Holzapfel, Schneider & Williams present;
Messrs, Behn, Evans, Shissler & .� altermann, absent; Eight members
being present, the following proceedings were had, to-wit:
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read.
The Board directed the Finance Department to pay the 5% reserves
retained on following named improvements to the contractors named
as follows, to-wit :
J.L.Teegarden, Lpntractor under Imp.Res. No.882-1929; Amt.$442.93
D.G.Burkhardt, ° 11 " " 903-1929; " 61.22
_ Permission was granted to Foster Armstrong, to cut the curb for
driveway at N.E.corner SW."D" & 5th Streets on SW. "D" St.side.
The Public Service Commission of Indiana copy of Order in Cause of
Geo. 4.. Decker to sell to Orville Thomas, his certificate of con-
venience & necessity of operating a common carrier service for
passengers and their baggage over the route "Union City, Indiana,to
Richmond, Indiana,thru Bartonia, Spartansburg, Crete,Arba, Bethel,
Whitewater and Middleboro, of Indiana, was received and placed on
file.
Sup 't. of Light Plant was directed to install Arc light in Bridge
Avenue, near Grant Street.
Street Commissioner was directed to repair the washout in Bridge
Ave. at hill leading from Grant Street; also, repair hole in alley
between North 21st & 22nd Street, between "D" & "E" Street.
Mr. Williams reported that numerous accidents were caused on National
' Road east, oh account of slippery pavement in wet weather, and re-
commended signs be placed on side of road, warning persons of con-
dition in weat weather; also suggested that curb be set back at
Southwest corner of National Road & Henley Road, referred to Street
Commissioner.
The matter of additional insurance on Light Plant was referred to
Sup 't. of Light Plant together with Public Utility Committee.
Claims in amount of p19,926.99 were allowed.
