The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Friday September 26th, 1930, at 9 olcl-ock A.M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Edmondson, Peelle and Dye being present, the following proceedings were had, to—wit : Permission was granted W. G. Huffman, to cut the curb for driveway at No. 74 Ft—Wayne Avenue. The City Civil Engineer submitted the following report, viz: In compliance with your instructions I went to Chicago the 22nd & had a conference with Mr. I.W.Geer;.Chief Engineer of Pensy.R.R.with respect to the separation of grades at North 12th St.& Railroad. In General the scheme as outlined by plan made in this office met with his approval, and he agreed to have plans prepared at once for the layout as would be desired by Kailroad Co. ,making -a total - estimat( of cost, after which negotiations will be entered into with the City -as to division of cost & other details. At the pre-sent time there is no legislation covering the division of expense of grade separation work in 3rd class cities such as Richmond. It will therefore be neces- sary that such division be made a subject for agreement between the Railroad Co. and City. - Mr. Geer could not commit his company to any definite agreement for going ahead with the work, at this time, but was agreeable to working out an acceptable plan, along our general scheme, and present it to his company and the City for further negotiations. After he has had time to give consideration to a track layout plan for the Railroad Company he will arrange for further conference with the City at Richmond. We should hear from him within the next few weeks. Very truly yours, S.W.Hodgin, City Civil Engineer The communication was ordered placed on file for future reference. Claims in amount of $9752.19 were allowed. The Board then adjourned, 11/ Prest. of Board Attest: 4A547 ,4;05r lerk of Board
