GREENCASTLE COMMON COUNCIL
EXECUTIVE SESSION
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 1999 5 :30 P.M. PUTNAM COUNTY LIBRARY
The Greencastle Common Council met in Executive Session Tuesday, February 23, 1999, 5:30
p.m. at the Putnam County Library. Mayor Michael called the meeting to Order. On the Roll
Call, the following were found to be present: Councilor Roach, Councilor Hammer, Councilor
Green and Councilor Masten. Councilor Baynard was absent. Also present was: Attorney Laurie
Robertson, Bill Dory and Mac Thorlton both from Greencastle, /Putnam County Development
Center.
Bill Dory stated F.B. Distro is interested in making a $4 million investment in its plant creating 62
new positions, seven of which will be management positions, fifteen full -time hourly associates and
forty part-time associates. The starting pay is $8.95 per hour going up to $10.00 per hour within
fifteen months. F.B. Distro is requesting a 10 year abatement. Councilor Masten asked to see the
numbers for 5 year abatement. Councilor Roach asked what the savings on a 5 year abatement
would be. Bill Dory stated there would be an approximate one -third reduction for a 5 year
abatement. Councilor Masten stated HAPPICO and Lear each received 5 year abatements and he
feels this is reasonable. Mayor Michael stated this is consistent with what has been done in the
Past.

A conference call was held with General Manager Bill Mancuso and Plant Manager Mike
Chandler. Mr. Mancuso stated they hope to have this addition up and operational by July. With
the closing of the Bensalem facility, the Greencastle facility will be the only distribution center
After some discussion Councilor Masten made the motion to adjourn, seconded by Councilor
Hammer. Vote was unanimous.
