Monday August lgth, 1530.
The Board of Puolic Works rks of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Monday August lgth
1930, at 5 o ' clock A. ii. All the members of said Board, Messrs,
Edmondson, Peelle and 'Uye being present . The following proceed-
ings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were ap-proved as read.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 915-
1 50, for tne construction of Light Post System in South 10th
Street, by the erection and installation of Light Posts on both
sides of said street , from South " C" to the south side of South
"E" Street.
Messrs, Freeman and Robbins, Attorneys for H. J . Hanes, appeared
before the Board in matter of open ditch in street recently
opened thru the Hanes property, the Board voiced the opinion
that this matter had been settled in Wayne County Circuit Court
on an appeal taken by said H,J .Hanes, and deferred action in
_Water until the return of the. City Attorney.
The City Civil Engineer, submitted a list of required street
sign plates showing arrangement of letters and numbers and the
amount of cost together with the number of signs and sign posts
as follows, to-wit : 1-I-34- Four way signs on posts, 7 Six way signs
on posts and 154 four way signs on brackets, estimated cost of
signs complete G $2270.00 installation ' 1230. 00 or a total of
0500.00. It was decided to request an appropriation in sum of
,p2270. 00 for signs, the labor in erecting said signs, to be for
out of Street improvement appropriations.
A communication was received from, Geo. F. Hamilton, President
of Board of Police Commissioners, recommending that the Board •
replace the amber lens in the present traffic lights with red
ones, eliminating to great a tenaency to run on the change signal
which has become quite prevalent in the City, taken under ad •
-
visement for investigation.
Claims in amount of 5 2835.88 were allowed.
Payrolls to August loth, 1950, were allowed.
