All the members of said Board, Messrs, Edmondson, Peelle ana Dye being present . The following proceed- ings were had, to-wit : . Tile minutes of the prec eding meeting were read and approved. '.17he hoard received, a communication. from the Gity Plan Commission calling their attention to the condition of the old school building in Glen Miller Park, stating proper attention in the past, has apparently not been given to it and it is now in a very poor state of repair. The suggestion is made it might be desirable to • • turn this building over to the care of the Historical Society. In which case it, no doubt should be. moved to the grounds of that Society on North t'A't Street and there repaired.. This suggestion is offered for your consideration. In any event the Commission feel that the building should be preserved as it is one of the • ' few relics, of the early history of this Community, now remain- in '. Shissler and R.R.Holzapfel, as follows, to-wit : - To the Members of the Board of Public Works : - We, the undersigned, members of the Oom.:,on Council, hereby re ' commend and authorize your Board, to enter into negotiations and ' purchase the real estate offered by Benjamin Berman and known as a part of the Old Gaar. Scott Plant , for the ` location of the Street Department . Price to be, as much lower, as same can be purchased, - from the present asking price, so that an appropriation of not more than 420, 000.00 will be necessary to be expended from the General Fund, for the purchase, installation of heating plant or small minor alterations, to take care of the Department before • the winter season arrives, ( signed as above stated. ) Communication filed and taken under advisement .
