In matter of stench arising from open ditch in connection with storm water sewer in South Ut S :"•eet, referred to City Engineer and Health Department June loth, 1930, the following report was received; +ir. Drischel and I have investigated this and find that several septic tanks, which are not open for cleaning and inspection, drain into the ditch complained of, causing a stench. The owners of tanks are - being notified by Mr. Drischel to clean them. The open ditch complained of, extends from a point about 100 ft . south of South E Street south a distance of about 175 ft . to a large • lax ditch. This 175 ft. of open ditch should be replaced with 1(5ft . of 18 in. sewer pipe at a cost of about ypt50.00 for the tile and yi'=0. for installing. I would suggest that the City furnish the pile if the property owner will install them, as was done in the case of Mr.o1 .H.Cobie as - reported to you in :e r letter of -March 2 7 th, 1930. The complaint of Mr. Oomuons is of the same ditch as complained of by Mr. Goble. Mr. Drischel concures in this recommendation. S. V. Hodgin, City Civil Eni- 1neer. The above was referred back to Engineer and Health vie ices, to see that- the septic tanks are first placed in proper condition. as required by the City Ordinances pages 292-93 of 1916. The Board approved the various payrolls to date. The Board. then adjourned; ' 4...,E-0 -1J44-&-Al Prest. of Board Attest : • vlerk of Board
