HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-20-1930 40E3 Office of Board of Public Works, City of Richmond, Indiana, Friday June 20th,1930. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Friday June 20th 1930, at 9 o 'clock A. M. Messrs, Edmondson and Dye, being present; Mr. Peelle absent. Two members of said Board being present, the following proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the proceeding meeting were read and approved. The Board approved a primary assessment roll for the improvement of West Main Street, by constructing cement sidewalk on north side of street & planting trees, from NW. 8th to llth Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 906-1930. - Mr. Bundy, was authorized to purchase Oak flooring & other neces- sary material for repairing of Crematory. - A petition was filed by Councilman Schnieder, requesting that employees of the Street Department be given a vacation, which was referred to City Attorney for investigation as to the legal- ity of granting the same. The Board receiged bids under Improvement Resolution -No. 911-1930, for improvement of South 20th Street, by sidewalks, C.& G. Exam and roadway, from South "A" Street south to present pavement, as follows, to-wit : " Lee Ridgeway, bid; . Cement sidewalk 4i1 wide and Cement C. & G. . . 990 lin-ft. each Paving roadway, Rock Asphalt -- 2. 75 sq-yard Bituminous Re-tread 2. 4-0 " '! '! Reinforced Concrete 2.85 '_' " W. L. Magaw, bid; 1- ' cement sidewalks 1.20 lin-foot Cement curb & gutter 1.05 Paving roadway, Rock Asphalt V V 2.-80 sq-yard Bituminous Re-tread 2. 50 u The Board now enters its preliminary order, designating that said street be improved-; :°using Bituminous Re-tread Macadam on 6" concrete base. The Board award contract to Henry White, for brick work in con- structing screen house and skip-hoist house at light plant for sum of $497.00, labor only, being the lowest bid received. Various complaints by councilmen received at last meeting of council were received and taken under advisement. Claims in amount of $40• ,363. �-5 were allowed.
