The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday June 16th, 1930, at 9 o 'clock A.M.. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Edmondson, Peelle and Dye being present, the following proceed- ings were had, to-wit : I/ The minutes of the preceeaing meeting were read and approved. The Board approve contract for city legal advertising at the rate of *0. 66'-� per 100 words in The Richmond Item, and if same advertise- ment is published in both The Item and Palladium the same rate shall pertain i. e. 640 per 100 words per insertion in each paper, for the year beginning June 16th, 1930, Officials of the T.H. I.& E. Traction Co. , appeared before the Board with a request that their present contract for electric energy with the City be renewed for a period of a year or so, if not they be notified in time so as to enable them to secure energy elsewhere, the matter was taken under advisement for investigation and report of Sup 't. , of Light Plant. Mr. Robt . Commons, appeared before the Board complaining that the stench: arl ing from open ditch south of South "E" Street between South 19th & 21st Street, is becoming un-bearable, and stated the septic tanks of the properties north of South 'E11 Street at South 19th, 20th & 21st Street should be investigated, as he was of the opinion they were not working properly. The Board directed the City Civil Engineering Department together with the Board of Public Health, td investigate as to whether the' pr•operty mentioned have proper septic tanks, and report their findings to the Board. Sup 't . , Hess, was directed to order one car of coal per day, to July 1st, 1930, from the Logan & Kanawha Coal Co. , at rate of 85¢ per ton f.lo.b. mines. The clerk eras directed to prepare an appropriation ordinance out of Light Plant funds in amount of 1700.00, for the erection of a skip hoist house and making & repairing roads to and from said house at city light plant .
