City of Richmond, Indiana,
Friday June 13th, 1930.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in regular session at the office of said Board, Friday
• June 13th, 1930, at 9 o 'clock A.M. Me.ssr_s Edmondson and Dye
present; Mr. Peelle being absent. Two members of said Board
being present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.
The Pohlmeyer Realty Company, were. . ranted permission I/to cut
the curb on Easthaven Ave. , at Lot 1, Dye & ,erioe,Addition;
also, to construct a sidewalk and driveway on south side of
West Main Street at Lots, 1 & 2, Dye & Price, Addition.
The Board met to hear remonstrances if any, of persons whose
property is assessed under Declaratory Resolution No. 241-2-1930, •
for vacation of easterly alleys between South lath & 20th Sts,
and between South "A" . & "B1° Street, and. a part of South 20th
Street as laid out .on the Official Map, of said. City. No one _
appearing or remonstrating, the Board approved a final assess-
ment roll of benefits & damages confirming in all things the
original assessment roll as heretofore approved, and now direct
the same be forthwith transmitted to the Department of Finance.
And said alleys and part of South 20th Street was declared to
be vacated.
6up 't. Hess of Light Plant was authorized to purchase coal from
the Raymond City Coal Co. , at the rate of 650 per ton f. o.b.
mines, two cars per day to July 1st, 1930.
The Board received bids for 900 tons more or less of chipped
stone, as follows to-wit :
" The Erie Stone Company, bid 1. 60 ton. f. o.b.
Richmond, Indiana.
"American Aggregates Corporation, bid;
Stone--$1.20 per ton f. o.b.plant , delivery-4a 56¢• & 614 ton.
11 The National Lime and Stone Co. , bid
Stone---- $1. 70 per ton net, f. o.b. Richmond, Indiana.
The bid of The Erie Stone Company, being the lowest received
on motion the contract was so awarded. z
Tha Clerk was instucted to prepare an appiopriati0n, ordinance
in sum of 412,000.00 and present the . smile at next meeting of
Council, for purchase of MotorPdriven Combination Pumping
Engine for Fire Department .
Claims in amount of 414+,857. 50 were allowed.
The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of contract
under Improvement Resolution No. 906-1930, for cement sidewalk
on north side of West Main Street,from Sth to llth Street,
the Board ordered assessment roll prepared.
