City of Richmond, Indiana,
Friday June 6th, 1930. •
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session in the office of said Board Friday June 6th,
1930, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said'Board, Messrs;
Edmondson, Peelle and Dye being present. The following proceed-
ings were had to-wit : _
The minutes of the preceedinumeeting were read and approved. ill
Permission Was granted John Miller, to cut the curb on north side
of National Road at Lot No. 46, Marchant 's, Addition. I/
Charles Lanning was granted to permission to camp on the City 's -
property on Newmans Hill, with the understanding that he keep the
weeds cut, and if there is any objections presented against such
camping, he is to immediately vacate the premises:
Gas Company, was granted permission to lay their gas, main in
Ratliff Street, from School to ' Stevens Street.
The Street Commissioner was directed to lay an 8" sewer pipe in
South 23rd Street, from the Wm. Shendler property to Reeveston
Road, for surface water to the storm sewer.
T'ne Board received quotations on Cannon stoves for the Market
House, from Miller Bros. Hardware Company, as follows:
#18 - 18" Fire bowl 48" high, weight 250 lbs. 318.35 each
#24+ - 24" " " 54i"' ,� 525 " - 35.25 "
Same was placed on file_for future referance.
In matter of petition received, - to direct the traffic on West
Main Street to East Haven Ave. , instead of crossing the traffic
at West 1st Street, which was referred to Hoosier State Automo-
bile Assn. , with the recommendation. of the Board of Works that
this be done; Thos. Ahl, Manager of said association, reported
that they had no authority in the matter, and it would be up to
the property owners, to make the endeavor to change the route as
is, to the Indiana State Highway Commission.
Claims in amount of $9, 560.79 were allowed.
The Board received bids for Traveling Screen for use of Light
Plant as follows, to-wit :
Chain Belt Co. , Millwaukee, Wis. , "screen" @--- ''2479.00.
Link Belt Co. , Chicago, Ill. , is ----42540.00.
The Board after having viewed screens .in operation at Hamil-
ton, Ohio, award the contract for said screen to the Chain Belt
Co. , Cy p2479.00 f. o. b. Richmond, Ind. , delivery 15 days.
