6 . Update on Posting of Previous Meeting Minutes : The minutes of the Bikeways Committee
Meetings have not been posted on the Town ' s website . After several unsuccessful attempts to
email previous meeting minutes Rick Scannevin said he will drop copies off at the Town Office .
7 . September Bike Month Highlights and Events : September is bike month in Massachusetts . Joe
Sullivan said he has a supply of bike lights that he would like to distribute and asked if someone
would like to assist . Rick Scannevin suggested a group bike ride but in light of the current Covid
surge it was put on hold .
8 . Vacancies on the Committee : The Bikeways is currently looking to add another member or two .
Joe asked if anyone on the Committee knew of anyone who might be interested . We will post
on the Town ' s website and Brewster Bikeways Facebook page . George Bausch will be retiring
from the Brewster Police Department (thank you George for your service I ) but said he would
still be interested in being involved with the Committee . He also recommends have a Police
Officer on the Committee .
9 . Objectives for 2022 : The Bikeways is still pursuing the installation of hydration stations and bike
repair stations along the Rail Trail . We will discuss some events for next year at following
meetings .
10 . Extension of Cape Cod Rail Trail Spur to Linnell Landing : Eric Levy says things are at a standstill .
The major obstacle is the means of crossing Rt 6A . A tunnel would be expensive and residents
aren 't keen, on adding crossing lights . A bridge would be another option . The Selectboard has
this on their radar for 2022 . The Committee will look into where that is on the list .
11 . Update on Bike racks and Repair Stations : Ryan Burch , from Brewster Natural Resources, says
the Town expects to get racks from the Cape Cod Commission by the end of August . The Town
did not request repair stations at this time as they want to figure out where to place them . The
f
Bikeways has suggested Nickerson State Park and the Rail Trail parking area on Rt 137 near
Underpass Rd .
12 . FYI : Joe talked about the League of American Bicyclists . We would like Brewster to be
designated a " bike friendly community" but there are certain criteria that have to be met to get
that designation .
