The Board of Public Works of the City of Ri cnmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday March 10th, 1930, at J o 'clock A.m. Messrs, Edmondson and Dye present ; Mr. Peele assent ; • Two members of said Board being present , The following proceedings were had, to-wit : - Minutes of the Preceedinc, fromeeting were read & ap_oroved. The Board received a communication the City Plan Commission re- questing the Board to widen South "A" Street, from South nth to 5th Street; also, to investigate the situation_ at the intersection of South 9th & "E" Street with the thought to eliminate the unsafe con- dition, by purchasing a triangular parcel of ground on the South-east corner to widen the street intersection, the above matters were re- ferred to the City Engineer to investigate and report. u''r. Chas. E. Bell, appeared before the Board requesting that the city take some action to relieve the condition existing at his property on east side or Southwest 6th Street between "A" & National Road, by - affording the proper out-let for water running into his property, the Board take the ::fatter under advisement for investigation. The City was served with a notice of an accident to Bessie Hilling . by stepping into a defective iron grating in front of building owned by Henry D. Zuttermeister situated on south side of Main Street near and east of the corner of South %-th & 1lain Streets, thereby sustain- ing a badly aprained right ankle, right knee, and sprained her oack and greatly shocked and injured. her nervous system and was injured internally supposedly in my intestinal tract, and was bruised and in- jured upon the head, which injuries are of a permanent character. The same was referred to City Attorney. The Public Utility Committee of council appeared before the Board and requested that they proceed in an effort to draft a suitable contract for stai.ioy exchange of electric energy, as recommended . by the Citizens Advisory- Committee. in maker of claim of G.L+. .c0sustland formerly employed by the City - presented to the Board February 7th, 1930, for services supposed to have been rendered the city in August 1929, the 'Board after ascertain- ing that said 1icCaustland, was laid off at the time mentioned and was • not in the employ of the city at that time, the claim- of 6230. 70 for . sala.ry- be not allowed and iiir.
