The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Friday January 17th, 1930, at 9 o a clock A.M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Edmondson, Pee* and Dye, being present , the following proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and ap7^roved. The Board authorize the City Engineer and Street Commissioner to attend the Road School to be held at LaFayette, Indiana, beginning January 20, 1930, the city to pay railroad fare and hotel bills out of appropriations for traveling expenses of their respective departments. The Police Chief was granted permission to have another telephone installed a nd nmw linoleum laid in the Desk man and Chiefs, off ides. Mr. Hipskind representative of Boyd & Cook contractors for southeast stomm sewer, appeared before the Board and promised to look after and endeavor to keep things at the sewer in a better condition. Communication was received from the Automotive Gear Works, requesting • South "0" Street be placed in condition for use in order that they . • may be enabled to use the street through to 8th Street, until the weather conditions are such that the contractor can proceed with the improvement of the street as contracted for. The matter of rental of garage for Street department equipment was discussed and taken under advisement until next Board meeting. Light Post Street Lighting system in Southwest 3rd Street from West Main Street to National Road under Improvement Resolution No. 906-1929 was reported completed, and assessment roll ordered prepared. ' The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 240-1930 to Vacate South 6th Street from "L" to "14' " Street; South" uT Street from South 6th Street to South' 7th'Street ; also, alley between ' South 6th St. & Oakland Place, from South "L" to AM" Street; • also, alley between west line of right of way of C.& " 0.
