Office of Board of Public Works City of Richmond, Indiana, Thursday 10th, 1930. 349 The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board day January 10th, 1930 at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Ed- mondson, Relle and Dye, being present, the following proceedings were had, viz : - Minutes of preceeding meeting read & approved. : - ' I/ . The Board received communication in matter of contract under Improve- ment Resolution No. 860-1928, for sewer constructed by E..A.Mariani contractor, nott -hating been laid according to specifications, cement joints having been used instead of asp altic joints as specified. The final assessment roll for this.-improvement having been approved on December 10th, 1928. The Bbard referred said communication to the' City Attorney and direct the clerk to notify J . Brandon Griffis, atty. of their action in said matter. Complaints referred to Board at last session of council were received, and so much of said matters as refers to streets & alleys were referrec to Street Commissioner, as to lights to Sup 't. , of Light Plant, Fire alarm boxes ,to Fire Chief, and streets between the rails of Street Car Co. , Clerk to notify the Company. Upon request of The Starr Piano Co. , the Street Commissioner was di- rected to place gravel on South "A" Street and bind the same with heavy oil as soon as the weather permits,• from South 1st to 2nd St. under the supervision of City Engineer. A petition was received signed by Geo. Dixon et-al. to improve Parry Street, by constructing cement sidewalks, curb & gutters and paving the roadway from South 9th to- 13th Street, referred to City Plan Commission and Engineer. Petitions for electric lights in -Southwest 16th and Southwest 17th Streets, south of National Road were received and referred to Sup 't. , of Light Plant for investigation and report . * Police Chief, was instructed to :trade in one of the city 's Paige Autos and the old ,Ford Coupe and purchase a Ford Phaeton Auto. , for use of Department . (* Take up with Commissioners of Police) The Fire Chief was directed to get in touch with the city clerk, in an effort to collect -the delinquent payments due the city for runs made by fire department, to out-lying districts, according to con- tracts of file made by said districts with the city. I/ Claims in amount of ;¢15, 242.15 were allowed. Street Commissioner was directed to cause property owner to make a • deposit for the hauling of cinders in unmade alleys & streets, city furnish the cinders, and to use his own judgement, were essential for the city to place cinders at city °s expense.
