Board of Commissioners Emergency Meeting
Thursday, October 29, 2009 — 7:00 p.m.

PRESENT: Mayor Tom Stevens, L. Eric Hallman, Mike Gering, and Evelyn Lloyd.
ABSENT: Commissioner Brian Lowen, and Frances Dancy
1. Call to Order
Mayor Tom Stevens called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

STAFF PRESENT: Town Manager Eric Peterson, Assistant Town Manager/Public Works Director Nicole Ard,
Town Clerk/Director of A ministration and Human Resources Donna F. Armbrister, and Town Attorney Bob
Hornik.
Upon a motion by Commissioner Hallman, seconded by Commissioner Gering, the Board moved to go
into Closed Session as authorized by North Carolina General Statute Section 143- 318.11 (a)(6)
regarding Personnel Matters by a vote of 3 -0. The motion was declared passed.
Upon returning to Open Session, and upon a motion by Commissioner Gering, seconded by
Commissioner Hallman, the Board moved to Adjourn by a vote of 3 -0 at 8:33. The motion was
declared passed.
