The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday December 19th, 1929, at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, McFall and 'Henley being present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit: The Board directed the Finance Department to pay to W.L. Magaw the 5% ordered retained under Improvement Resolution, Ravihia Park 4.st Addition, in lieu of guarantee bond for one year on said work. • . Upon recommendation of Sup 't. , Hess of M.E. L'.& P.P. the Board direct the installation of arc light at Southwest 1st & "E" Streets. The Board order a car load* of N. & S. Coal for City Building, from M.E.L.& P.P. The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No.- 905-1929 for construction of sanitary sewer between South 5th & 6th Street from South " I" Street south to lot #20 A.B. Cohorsts ' Addition, as follows, to-wit: " E. A. Mariani, bid; • Sewer complete $2.33 per linear foot John F. Hipskind, bid; Sewer complete $2.34 per linear foot " Braag & Meredith, bid; • Sewer complete $2.49 per linear foot The bid of E.A.Mariani, being the lowest and within the esti- mate of the City Civil Engineer, the contract was so awarded. The Board adopted the following resol.ution,viz: WHEREAS,the Reid Memorial Hospital is a hospital located immedi- ately- adjacent to the City of Richmond, Ind. , which said hospital accepts and cares for charity patients;and WHEREAS, the Board of Trus- - tees of said hospital has petitioned said city for free service from the M.E.L.& P.P.of said city; and WHEREAS, the Common Council of said city at their regular meeting held on the 16th day of December 1929 adopted by unanimous vote a resolution recommending that the im Board of Public Works of said city by proper proceedings agree to furnish such free electric service; and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the Municipal Electric Light & Power Plant of the City of Richmond, Indiana, by and with the con- sent of the Public Service Commission furnish to the Reid Memorial Hospital electric- service free of charge from & after Jan.lst, 1930 as authotized by Chapter 87 of the Acts of the Indiana General Assem- bly,1929 on page 286; provi ed however that such free service shall not exceed in any one year no more than the K.W.consumpt ion of elect= ric current by said hospital for year 1929, any excess above such amount to be paid for by said hospital at the prevailing rates. The City Attorney was directed and authorized to present said petit- ion & resolution to said Public Service Commission for consent. • Claims in amount of $19, 140.99 were allowed.
