The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday September 5th 1929 at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, McFail and Henley being present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit : C. B. Evans, was granted permission to cut the curb at 623 South 14th Street, for driveway. Sam Jaffe, was granted permission to construct a 10 foot sidewalk on east Main Street from South 2nd Street east- at- building on Southeast corner of South 2nd & Main Streets. - The City Civil Engineer, reported the completion of contract under Improvement Resolution No-. 895-1929, for the improvement of North half of South "L" Street, by constructing cement sidewalk, curb & gutter on north side of street and reinforced concrete roadway on north half of said Street, from South 9th to 12th Street, the same - was accepted and assessment roll ordered. The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of contract under Improvement Resolution No. E91-1929, ' for the improvement of the alley between South 15th & 16th Street, by constructing cement roadway from South "E" to "H" Street, the same was accepted and assessment rol ordered. -T • he Board directed the Finance Department to pay the 5% due under Improvement Resolution No.867-1928, and 868-1929, amounts $68. 4 _ & 478.28, to Pyle & Ridgeway contractors. . The Board approved the contract & bond of W. L. Magaw contractor under Improvement Resolution No. 899-1929, for the improvement of South "0" Street, from South 5th to 8th Street. - - Pursuant to notice given the inhabitants of the City of Richmond, Ind. The Board of Public Works met to hear remonstrances or objections if any, against the contract & agreement presented by The Dille & McGuire Mfg. Co. , for permission to construct and maintain a switch track across North 14th Street at their lawn mower factory, as filed with the Board August 15th, 1929, on which date the Board fixed Thursday September 5th, 1929, at their office as a date and place of hearing and at which time said contract &- agreement will be finally considered . No remonstrance or objections having been filed against said grant, Proof of Publications of said contract & agreement and date and place of hearing, in the Richmona Palladium & Sun-Telegram and The Richmond IlLItem and affidavits signed by Whitney McGuire, that notices had been posted in 10 public places in said City. The 'Board unanimously approve said contract & agreement, subject to the ratification and approval of the same by the Common Council and Mayor of said City, and now di- rect that a bill for an ordinance be prepared and presented to the Common Council at their next meeting for their consideration and ratification. Thursday September 5th, 1929. The Board issue contractors certificate #80 to W.L. Magaw con- tractor in amount of 015, 746.33 Improvement Resolution No.880- 1928, for improvement of streets in Ravinia Park 1st Addition. • The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No. 903-1929 for improvement of the alley between South 9th & 10th Street,by cement roadway and sewers to lot line, from South" I" to "J" Street as follows, to-wit: _ _ " Daniel G. Burkhardt, bid; Cement roadway complete---.204-0 sq-foot, sewer con. $1.50 tin—ft. as Lee Ridgeway, bid; , Cement roadway--.22.7/80sq-ft. $1.15 lin-ft. sewer connections. " W. L. Magaw, bid• Qement roadway-.2720sq-ft . sewer connections$2.00 lin-ft. The bid of D. G. Burkhardt being the lowest and being within the estimate, contract was so awarded. The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No.904-1929 for improvement South " I" Street; by constructing cement sidew&lks on both sides of street, _from South 5th to 6th Street as follows: " Lee Ridgeway, bid; Cement sidewalk 5ft. wide complete .2144 per sq-foot h Daniel G. Burkhardt, bid; Cement sidewalk Oft. wide complete .220 per sq-foot " W. L. Magaw, bid; Cement sidewalk 5ft. wide complete .250 per. sq-foot The bid of Lee Ridgeway being the lowest and within the esti- mate, contract was so awarded. In consideration of th_7 City paying to Thos Ryan the sum of §500.00 in dash, and City assuming the cost assessed against said Thos Ryan in matter of opening South "L" South 10th, llth, 12th & 13th Streets under Declaratory Resolution No. 222-1928, in amount of $270.39. the said Thos Ryan, agrees to deed to said City certain portions of real estate for the widening of South 9th Street on east side of said Street to South "Q" Street (See agreement) The Board ordered the Richmond Water Works Corporation to extend the 6" water main in Southwest 16th Street, from National Road to Southwest "E" Street and installing two fire hydrants on said extension. The Richmond Water Works Corp. filed an estimate in amount of $47.87 as cost of relocating fire hydrant at $oath 2nd & "0" Sts. The Clerk was directed to charge to cost of said relocation to the C.& 0. Ry,Co. , and Eastern Indiana Milling Co. , as benefits in vacation of North " 0" Street from 2nd to 3rd and part of North 2nd Street under Resolution No.236-1929.
