City of Richmond, Indiana,
Monday August 12th, 1929.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board ivionday August 12th
1929, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs,
Reid, McFall and Henley being present. The following proceedings
were had, to-wit:
Pursuant to continuance to this date, the Board met to hear all
persons interested or whose property is affected under Improvement
Resolution No. 902-1929, for the improvement of South "L"� Street
by. constructing cement curb, gutter & planting trees on both- sides
thereof, and grading & paving the roadway with one of the following
pavements, to-wit ; hock Asphalt, Sheet Asphalt, Reinforced Concrete
or Bituminous Macadam, from South 12th to 13th Street, after care-
fully considering a remonstrance filed against said improvement,
the same being signed by all of the resident property owners, the
Board rescinded said_ resolution.
The Board directed the Finance Department to pay to Pyle & Ridgeway
contractors the 5% retained under the following contracts, to-wit :
Imp. Res. No. 843-1927, 5% on Hunt Street `'1223 .01+ •
n II " 852-192�s, 5%o North 12th Street 388.30
Permission was granted Louis Paolini to construct sidewalk on North
"F" Street at Northeast- corner of 12th & "F" XStreet,under the
supervision of city engineer. •
H. Shiplett was granted permission to cut the curb at 4 -5 -Southwest
+th Street, for driveway.
Street Commissioner was directed to repair floor in Happy Hollow
swinging bridge; also to repair storm sewer- in Hilda Street as rec-
ommended by city engineer, and to place wire screens over the
windows at sewage pumps together with a sign warning persons it
is city property. -
Letter was received from Mrs . Chas. Posther, complaining as- to dusty
condition of approach to South 9th Street, bridge and weeds on the
hillside of ap Droach, and requesting some relief be given.
Claims in amount of 63286. 77 were allowed.
