The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board _Thursday July lath 1929, at 9 oiclock A.M. All the members of said Board Messrs, Reid, ivicFail and Henley being present . The .following proceedings were had, to-wit : A petition was presented for the construction of Sanitary Sewer in South 5th Street, from South "H" to AL" Street, referred to City Engineer for plans etc. , A petition was presented for the vacation of North" 0" Street west of North 3rd Street and North 2nd Street at Roller Mills property plans etc. , ordered and petition referred to City Plan Commission. A petition for paving South "H" Street with concrete, from South 6th to 8th Street was received, taken under advisement. The Board met to hear all persons interested in the vacation of alley between North 13th & l4th vStreet, from North" F" Street to a point south of said "10 Street 170 feet, under Declaratory Resolution No. 233-1929. _after hearing all persons interested • who appeared, the Board confirm said resolution and order a list or roll of all proprty owners and of valuable interests therein sought to be taken which list or roll shall also describe the property benefitted, and fix the amount of benefits to property in sum of $101.93. The Building Inspector was instructed to issue permit to Dille & McGuire Lawn iviower Co. , to place tanks for fuel oil under the sidewalk at their factory under the direction of Building Inspect- or and Fire Chief. The Board met to hear remonstrances, if any of persons whose proper- ty is primarily assessed under Improvement Resolution No.88 —1929. for improvement of Fort Wayne Ave, by setting back curbs and paving the remainder of roadway with concrete, from 1st alley north of Main Street to North " C" Street. After hearing all persons interested who appeared. The Board approved a final assessment roll confirm- ing the original assessment roll heretofore approved, and now direct the sane be forthwith transmitted to the Department o:f Finance. The Board met to hear remonstrances if any of persons whose prop- erty is primarily assessed under Improvement Resolution No.888-1929 for the construction of 5 ' cement sidewalks & curb & gutters on both sides of Hilda Street, from Easthaven Ave. to west terminal of street, no remonstrance having been filed, the Board approved a final assessment roll confirming the original assessment roll as heretofore approved, and now direct the same be forthwith trans- mitted to the Department of Finance. The Board met to hear remonstrances if any of persons whose prop- erty is assessed under Improvement Resolution No. 893-1929, for the conttruction of cement sidewalks onboth sides of South" I" Street from South Sth to 9th Street. No one remonstrating. The Board ap- • prove a final assessment roll as heretofore approved, and now direct the same be forthwith transmitted to the Department of Finance. Thursday July 18 th, 1929. ' 291 The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No.235-1929 providing for the opening and widening of South 16th Street to a width of 77 feet from north line of Tract 556 Official Map, to the north line of South "Jtt Street. Pursuant to continuance to this date the Board resume hearing of persons whose property is affected under Improvement Resolution Noe II899-1929, for the improvement of South " 0" Street,by construction of cement sidewalks, curb & gutter, planting of trees on both sides of street and paving the roadway with either Reinforced Concrete; Rock Asphalt; Sheet Asphalt or Bituminous Macadam, from South 5th to South 8th Street, after hearing all persons interested who appeared the Board continue hearing on said resolution and fix Thursday August 1st, 1929, at 9 o 'clock, as a time for further action on same. The Board order the Richmond Water Works Corporation, to extend the 6" water main in South " 0" Street, from South 5th to South 8th Street with fire hydrants installed at points to ;oe designated by Fire Chief E. The Board on motion order that zx-%ren persons have meter box installed at the curb, the.pipe laid from said curb to the property line shall be either a copper or lead pipe. The Board authorize the City Engineer, to instruct the contractor for cement alley between North 15th & 16th Street, from North "Dtt to ttE" Street, to tap . the sewer and extend sewer pipes to property line the cost of sane to be placed on assessment roll as a lien on the property under Improvement Resolution No.897-1929. Street Commissioner, was instructed to place either a load of cinders or gravel Southwest 8th Street at the alley between West Main & Southwest "A" Street. • The Board approved the various payrolls to July 16th, 1929.
