HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-11-1929 Office of Board of Public Works Thursday July llth, 1929, �8 City of Richmond, Indiana, The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday July llth, 1929 at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members of said Board Messrs, Reid, cFa.il and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit : The Board received communication signed by William G. Bate, Sup 't. , with a request from School Board of Trustees, that a 6 foot sidewalk be constructed under the present contract from South 9th to 12th Street on north side of South " L" ;Street at price of .200 per sq-ft. as proposed by the contractor, _as the School City ' s property is the only property involved, the Engineer was instructed to prepare planes for said walk and direct. the contractor to construct the same. A complaint from C. & W. Kramer Co. , was received as to surface water flooding their lumber yards, referred to engineer for investigation and report to Board as to remedy for same. Notice, of petition filed with The Public Service Commission of Indiana by The Richmond Home Telephone Company, for change in rules of said Company was received and referred to City Attorney. The Board upon recommendation of D. O.Hess, approved and signed a con- tract with the Standard Oil Co. , for lubricating oils for coming year. The Board met to hear all persons interested in or whose property affected under Improvement Resolution No. 899-1929, for the improve- ment 5' l Street South 'I 1 J \l of South " 0" Street from South ��cn to 5tr_ Spree c. After hearing all persons interested who appeared, the Board post- pone hearing on said resolution until Thursday July lath, 192E at 9 o'clock A.M. The Board approved a primary assessment roll under Improvement Reso- lution No. 890-1929, for concrete alley between South llth & 12th St. from South "H" to " I" Street-. The Board approved a primary assessment roll under Improvement Reso- lution_ No. 892-1929, for improvement of Northwest 6th Street, by con- strucing cement sidewalk 5 ' wide and curb & gutter on both sides from Pearl Street to Peacock Road. The Board unanimously decide that in the event South "0"- Street is improved under Resolution No. 899-1929-. The City will construct a 54" sewer in South 8th Street, from South "0" to "P" Street next year. Street Commissioner was instructed to block the 1st alley north of earl Street from Northwest 6th Street west to alley running north 70 aecount of dangerous washout;.111 - Claims in amount of 1659.75 were allowed.
