The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board, Mhursday June 27th, 1929 at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Reid, McFai and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit : The Board met to hear remonstrances if any, of persons whose ptoper- 111 - ty is primarily assessed under Improvement Resolution No. 879-1928, for the improvement of the 1st alley north of National Road, by con- structing cement roadway from Southwest 4th to 5th Street. No one appearing or remonstrating, the Board approved a final assessment roll, confirtin-gthe original assessment roll as heretofore approved, and now direct the same be forthwith transmitted to the Department of Finance. The Board met to hear remonstrances if any, of persons whose proper- ty is primarily assessed under Improvement Resolution No.885-1929, for construction of sanitary sewer in territory between Southwest 1st Street & Whitewater Boulevard and between Southwest"D" and "E" Street, no one remonstrating, the Board approved a final assessment roll confirming the original assessment roll heretofore approved, and now direct the same be- forthwith transmitted to the Department of Finance The Board accepted and approved a primary assessment roll under Im- provement Resolution No. -8/;--1929, for the improvenen_t of. Ft.Wayne Av by widening street, constructing cement curbs and paving roadway between the old pavement and new curbs on both sides of street, from 1st alley north of Main Street to North "C" Street. The Board accepted and approved a primary assessment roll under Im- provement Resolution No. 886-1929, for the improvement of Hilda St . by constructing cement sidewalks 5 ' wide & curb & gutter on both side thereof, from Lasthaven Ave. to west terminal of Hilda Street. The city civil engineer, reported the completion of contract under Improvement Resolution No. 893-1929, for the improvement of South" I" -Street, by constructing cement sidewalks 5 ' wide on both sides of_ street, from South 8th to 9th Street, the same was accepted and pri- mary assessment roll approved. The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No. 897-1929, for improvement of alley between North 15th & 16th Streets, by con- structing cement roadway the full width thereof, from North "D" to North "E' Street, as follows to-wit : " Daniel G. Burkhardt, bid; Cement roadway complete $0.19i0 per sq-foot. Lee Ridgeway, bid; Cement roadway complete 40.230 per sq-foot. Z. B. Pyle, bid; vement roadway complete v 0. 23 ¢ per sq-foot. The bid of Daniel G. Burkhardt, being the lowest and being with- in the estimate of the city civil engineer, the contract was on motion so awarded. • The City Clerk was directed to notify the Richmond Water Works Cor- poration to relocate the hydrant, in sidewalk in Hilda Street. Thursday June 27th, 1929. The Board approved the grade as reported by the City Civil • Engineer, also, grade line for South "B" & 6th Streets, Relief . Sewer. . The Board approved plat . representing 128 city lots numbered from 109 to 228 both inclusive, known as The Ravinia Park 2nd Addition east of Henley Road. The Board grant to the American Legion, the privilege of erect- ing reviewing stands along the sidewalks on North "A" Street, between North llth & 12th Streets, during their convention to be111 held August 24, 25 & 26, 1929. The Board authorize the clerk to prepare the following bills ap- propriating the following sums of money as follows, _ to-wit o 425, 000.00 for the pruchase of grounds and erecting a suitable garage for Street Department equipment, to be raised by a sub- sequent bond issue against the city; Also', an ordinance appro- priating the sum of 45,000.00, out of earnings of Light Plant to account of labor,materials etc. , incidental in removing old and installing new boilers at 'Light Plant . Claims in amount of 411, 541. 60 were allowed. • As Messrs, Reid and Henley, will be absent from the City next week, and no business of any importance being scheduled for next week, the Board decide no meetings will beheld on July 1st & 4th their regular meeting days, and decide when they adjourn they adjourn to Monday July oth, 1929. • The Board then adjourned, Prest. of Board Attests G ' • v- erk of bard
