HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-24-1929 Office of Board of Public Works 282- City of Richmond, Indiana, Monday June 214-th, 1929. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday June 24th, 1929, at 9 o'clock A.M. All the members of said. Board, Messrs, Reid, McFail and Henley being. present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit : A petition for the improvement of Southwest 16th Street., formerly George Street, by constructing cement sidewalk, curb & gutter on both sides of street and paving the roadway with either Reinforced Concrete, Sheet, Asphalt, Rock Asphalt or Bituminous Macadam, from National Road to Southwest ' E" Street, formerly Catherine St. was received and referred to city engineer, for investigation & report_ as to resident property owners. The Board awarded contracts for coal as follows, to-wit: To M.E.L.& P.P. of City 125 tons N.& S.Coal, delivered to City Building, f.o.b.cars @ 3. 71 ton; one car or -I-0 tons for No. & 5,. hose houses f.o.b. . .06 per ton; 35 tons on switch for park @ $40o6 per ton. To. The Muff Feed & Coal Co. , 15 tons Winifred Lump Coal deliver- ed in bins at Detention Hospital, 'Vest ollth & Main Sts. 44.96 ton. To, Shera Coal & Supply Co. 40 tons_ of Pocahontas Egg .Coal, de- livered 20 tons to each of iNo. 3 & 4 hose houses $5. 60 ton. The Police Department, were authorized to purchase 2 sets of tires & tubes for their Paige Automobiles. The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of Fort Wayne Ave. from 1st alley north of Main Street to North " 0" Street as pro- vided for under Improvement Resolution No. 884-1929. The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No.233-1929, for the vacation of the alley between North 13th & 14th Street, running from North "Ft° Street to a point 170 feet south. The Clerk was instructed to write and ascertain. what, progress if any has been made by the T.H.I .& E. Traction Co. , in matter of moving their tracks from South side of National Road to center of said street,_ from- West 1lthvStreet west.
