The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in _ regular session at the office of said Board, Monday June 3rd, 1929 at 9 o 'clock _A.M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Reid, McFall and Hanley, being present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit : _ The Board met to hear remonstrances, if any, of persons whose proper- ty is primarily assessed under Improvement Resolution No. 871-1928, for the improvement of National Road, by constructing a 6' cement sidewalk on north side of street, from Charles Avenue to Easthaven Avenue. No one appearing or remonstrating. The Board approved a final assessment roll, confirming the original assessment roll as hereto- fore approved and now direct the same be forthwith transmitted to the Department of Finance. The Clerk was directed to advertise for coal for City Buildings, Hose houses, Detention Hospital and Parks, for year 1929. b The Board received bids for the improvement of South " I" Street, by constructing 51 cement sidewalks on both sides of street, from South 8th to _9th Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 893-1929, as follows to-wit : " Lee Ridgeway, bid; Cement sidewalk 5 foot wide 41.01+ per linear foot . " Daniel G. Burkhardt, bid; _Cement sidewalk 5 foot wide $0.22 per square foot " J. L. Teegarden & Co. , bid; Cement sidewalk 5 foot wide 0.224¢ per sq-foot. " W. L. Magaw, bid; Cement sidewalk 5 foot wide 41. 50 per linear foot. The bid of Lee Ridgeway, being the lowest and within the estimate of the city engineer, the contract was so awarded. The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No. 891+-1929, for the improvement of the alley between South 5th & 6th Street, by constructing cement roadway, from South "A" )Street north, to the 2nd alley south of Main Street as follows,. to-wit :H Lee Ridgeway, bid; Cement roadway complete 40.1944 per sq-foot " Daniel G. Burkhardt, bid; . Cement roadway complete p0.201¢ per sq-foot. " W. L. Magaw, bid;- Cement roadway complete $0.2-I-.7 per sq-foot. The bod of Lee Ridgeway, being the lowest and within the esti- mat of city civil engineer, the contract was so awarded. The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No. 895-1929, .i . for the improvement of north one half of South "L" Street, by con- structing cement curb & gutter and paving the roadway with one of • the following kinds of modern city pavements, to-wit : Reinforced Concrete, Sheet Asphalt; Rock Asphalt or Bituminous Macadam and planting of trees, from South 9th to 12th Street, as follows to-wit : " W. L. Magaw, bid; Straight curb & gutter $1.16 pgr linear foot.
