The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board at 9 o 'clock A.M. Monday May 27th, 1929. All the members of said -Board, Messrs,Reid, McFall and Henley being present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit: The Board met to hear remonstrances, if any, of persons primarily assessed under Declaratory Resolution No. 231-1929, for the vacat- ion of a portion of South 8th Street at "0" Street. No one remonstrating': the Board approve a final assessment of benefits and damages as heretofore approved and now direct the same be forthwith trans- mitted to the Department of Finance, and declare said portion of South 8th Street vacated. The Board approved primary assessment roll under Improvement Reso- lution No. 889-1929, for the construction of cement sidewalks on both sides of North "H" Street, from 12th to 14th Street. The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of contract under Improvement Resolution No. 873-192$, for the improvement of Boyer Street, by constructing -cement sidewalks, curb & gutter, planting shad4 trees on both sides and grading & paving the roadway with reinforced concrete, from Stevens Street to Williamsburgh Pike. The Board accepted same and approve a primary assessment roll, the City assuming the cost of intersection. The Board purchase from W.E.McWhinney & Co. , a Ford Truck for the Park Department at price of $74+6.00 less $25.00 allowed for old - truck in exchange or a net price of $721.00. The Board order light placed at Harris & Brenner Street; also, direct Light Plant to lay cable in South 18th Street beginning at south jog in South "A" Street to said "A" Street, east in South "A" St. to South 20th Street; thence south to South "B" Street with one light post and extend cable for fire alarm system to 20th Street. Whereas, the Townsend Brach Community Service, have not paid the - rent for city property occupied by them and have not exercised right to purchase property under option expiring April lst,1929, The -Clerk was directed to notify said Townsend Branch thru Walter Dennis, to vacate and remove their effects from building at corner of North Sth & "D" Streets belonging to said City and formerly used as fire station, on or before July 1st, 1929. Claims in amount of p1311.55 were allowed. The next regular meeting day of Board falling on May 30th, 1929, Decoration Day, the Board decide not to meet on said date.
