The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday May 9th, 1929 at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Reid, MoFail, and Henley being present. The following proceedings were had to-wit : The Board awarded contract to Howard Frame, to run sewer to Detention house -and care takers house in West . 11th Street, build a room to west I/ of caretakers house, for -bath room; install water closets and lava- tories in -pest house and caretakers house and to do all work necessary in caretakers house forlinstalling bath room, for the sum of $1002.00 (Bath tub, water heater and range boiler to be installed by caretaker and to remain the property of caretaker Charles Bostick, with the ,permission to remove the same from bath room at any future, time, that he may moveJ-hie_residence from said caretaker house) / '& The Board met to hear remonstrances if any, of persons interested in or whose property is affected under Improvement Resolution No. 893-192 providing for the improvement of South "I" Street, by constructing 5' cement sidewalks,xxxxlax&xgatt$gsxo.nxiso± on both sides of street from South 8th to 9th Street. No one remonstrating the Board decide that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said im- provement are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer; and thereupon take. action on said resolution, the same be- ing confirmed without modification. - The Board-continue hearing on improvement of the alley between South 5th & 6th Street, from South "A" Street north as provided under Im- • provement Resolution No. 891E-1.929, until Monday May 13th, 1929. The Board granted the use of Glen Miller Park to the Boy Scouts, date of June 6th, 1929. ' The Board directed the City Civil Engineer, to make the necessary changes in the plans for the improvement of Hilda Street, from East Haven Avenue west under Improvement Resolution No. 888-1929, by making a 30 foot roadway, the additional expense to be paid by the City at not to exceed the sum of 6280.00, as verbally agreed by the contractors J. L. Teegarden &. Co. , The Clerk was directed to notify the F. & N. Lawn Mower Co. , to re- pair the street at their side track crossing Washington Avenue. The Board approved a plat of 10 lots, numbered from 1 to 10 both inclusive; laid out be Jesse Weichman, et-al. , to be known as the Aneta Sub-Division of West part of Lot 7, Cleavers, Out-Lots, lying between South `9th & 10th Streets and north of South " I" Street. The- Board received letter from R. C. Miller Superintendent of The Pennsylvania Railroad, Columbus, Ohio. , assuring the Board that they . 'would look into the matter and repair their crossings at North Sth ' Street and at North 6th Street. • (See next page) Thursday May '9th, 1929. The Board received bids for the improvement of South 11H" Street, by constructing cement sidewalks, curb & gutter on both sides of street, from South 5th to 8th Street, and grading and paving the roadway with a bituminous mixed macadam surface on a cinder-gravel foundation from South 5th to 6th Street, as provided for under Improvement Resolution No. 882-1929, as 'follows to-wit: 11 J. L. Teegarden & Co. , bid; Cement sidewalk t).19* sq-ft. Alley inter.---40.25 sq-ft. Cement C.& G. straight .10; C.& G. circle 1.25 lin-ft. Bituminous mixed macadam surface roadway 82,50 sq-yrd. The bid of J.L.Teegarden & Co. , being the lowest and within the estimate of city civil engineer, contract was so awarded. The Board received bids, for one 20to 22 ton truck 'complete with line body, winch and pole setting derrick, together with amount allowed in taking the Old Dodge Truck in trade; all for the M.E. L. & P. P. as follows to-wit : " International Harvester - Co. , of America, bid; Allowance Model 46- 2 to 22 T. truck complete-$4335.75 less $400.00 net .$3935.75 " Auto Equipment Co. ,bid; Truck complete---$5795.00; allowance for Dodge-0175.00. All bids referred to Sup 't. , of Light Plant for investigation report and recommendation. The Board unanimously adopted Improvement _Resolution No. 895-1929, for the improvement of the north side of South "L" Street, by con- structing cement curb & gutter and planting of shade trees on north side of street; and paving the roadway with one of the following kinds of, modern city pavements on north half of street, from South 9th to 12th Street. The Board having received copy of resolution adopted by the Board of School Trustees, waiving their rights to remonstrate against said improvement. The Board order clerk to advertise for bids for said improvement. . Claims in amount of $2457.13 were allowed. The Board then adjourned, Prest. of Board. Attest: lerk of Board
