I further certify that on June 6, ~ 1988 the Corporate Authorities of such municipality passed and approved Ordinance No. 1161 , entitled AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE USE OF ADMINISTRATIVE CITATIONS FOR CERTAIN ORDINANCE VIOLATIONS which provided by its terms that it should be published in pamphlet form. The pamphlet form of Ordinance No. 1161 including the Ordinance and a cover sheet thereof was prepared, and a copy of such Ordinance was posted in the municipal building, commencing on June 6 1988 and continuing for at least ten days thereafter. (SEAL) '~ ~... ~~~ Municipal lerk CHAPTER 10 ARTICLE 13 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE USE OF ADMINISTRATIVE CITATIONS FOR CERTAIN ORDINANCE VIOLATIONS WHEREAS, the Village of Plainfield recognizes the volume of cases in the Judicial System with respect to certain ordinance violations; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the Village of Plainfield to provide relief for the Judicial System in certain cases involving certain violations of the Code of Ordinances; and WHEREAS, it is the continued intent of the Village of Plainfield to seek compliance with respect to violations of said ordinances. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD ARE HEREBY AMENDED TO PROVIDE FOR THE USE OF ADMINISTRATIVE CITATIONS IF CERTAIN LISTED ORDINANCES ARE VIOLATED. SECTION 1: Definition: An Administrative Citation is hereby defined as the citation used in the case of certain ordinance violations as below listed in lieu of arrest. SECTION 2: Administrative Citations may only be used for those ordinance violations listed herein on Exhibit "1" which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. SECTION 3: Per the discretion of any police officer of the Village of Plainfield an Administrative Citation may be issued in lieu of arrest, but only far those violations as set Earth in Exhibit "1". SECTION ~: That an Administrative Citation shall be in a form substantially the same as that attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit "2". SECTION 5: When an Administrative Citation is issued, the recipient of said ticket may settle and compromise the claim by paying to the Village of Plainfield an Administrative Fee in the amount of twenty ($20.00) dollars within ten (10) days of the issuance of said citation. SECTION 6: In the event payment of the twenty ($20.00) dollar administrative fee has not been obtained within the ten (10) day period, the Administrative Fee will be increased to the amount of thirty ($30.00) dollars for the period beginning the eleventh (11th) day and including the thirtieth (30th) day after the issuance of the citation and the recipient shall have until the close of the business day on the thirtieth (30th) day to satisfy said claim. SECTION '7: If the recipient of said citation does not settle the claim within the above described time period, a Complaint or Notice to Appear will be issued for said violation and the person shall be subject to the fines and penalties as set forth in the applicable provisions of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Plainfield. SECTION 8: This Ordinance sha11 be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law. SECTION 9: The Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form. This ordinance shall be numbered as ordinance No. 1161 Passed this 6th.T,.._ day of June 1988.
