TOWN COMMISSION POLICY
SATELLITE DISH INSTALLATION
It is the policy of the Town Commission of the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida that
satellite dishes of up to 18 inches in diameter be installed in accordance with the
following guidelines to the extent practical:
1) Dishes should not be located on the front wall of a structure nor on the front half of
side walls in order to screen their view from the street.
2) Dishes should not be mounted higher than 12 feet off of the ground, and should be
located under the eaves of one-story structures or one-story portions of multiple -
story structures in order to screen their view from neighboring properties.
3) Dishes should be located adjacent to existing or new landscaping in order to screen
their view from neighboring properties.
4) The installation of a satellite dish shall not require a building permit from the Town
of Gulf Stream provided that the Palm Beach County Building Division also does not
require a building permit for the installation.
5) The Town Manager shall be charged with implementing this policy.
6) Satellite dishes larger than 18 inches in diameter shall be installed in accordance
with the provisions contained in sec. 66-366 of the Town of Gulf Stream Land
Development Code.
Passed on a motion duly made and seconded on the 12th day of January, 1996, by a
majority vote of those Commissioners present.
