Thursday March 7th, 1929.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board„ Thursday Thu_rsda.y March
7th, 1929, at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members of said Board,
Messrs, Reid, McFall and Henley being present . The following
proceedings were had, to-wit :
The Board met to hear all persons interested or whose property
is affected under Improvement Resolution No. 888-1929, for the
improvement of Hilda Street, by constructing 5 ' cement sidewalk
cement curb & gutter, standard width, on both sides. of said street
from Easthaven Avenue t0 the west terminal of Hilda Street . After
hearing all persons interested who appeared, and no remonstrance
having been filed against said improvement . The Board decide that
the benefits to the property liable to .be assessed for said im-
provements are equal to the cost of same as reported by the city
civil engineer, and thereupon take final action on said resolu-
tion, the same being confirmed without modification.
The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No. 871-1928
for the improvement of National Road, by constructing 6 ' cement
sidewalk on north side of street, from Charles Ave. to Easthaven
Avenue, as follows to-wit :

The bid of J . L . Teearden & co . , being the lowest and within the
engineers estimate, the contract was so awarded.
The Board received bids under .I.iiprovement Resolution No.819-1928,
f oi- the improvement of the 1st alley north of Notional Road, by -
constructing cement roadway the full width thereof, from South-
west -t.h to 5th Street, as follows- to-wit :

The bid of Lee Ridgeway, being the lowest & within the esti
mate of city divil engineer, the contract was so awarded.
The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No. 881-1928
for the improvement of South 22nd Street, by constructing 5 ' ce-
ment sidewalks, curb & gutter standard width, center parkway in-.
eluding curbs, grading & paving the roadway with one of the fol-
lowing kinds of modern city pavements; Sheet Asphalt ; Rock Asphalt ;
Reinforced Concrete or Bituminous Macadam; also, planting Of
trees, from Reeveston Road to South " E" Street as =olloils, t0_erit :

The Board on motion now enter its preliminary order, designating
that said South 22nd Street, be paved with Rock Asphalt .

The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No: 884-1929,
• for the improvement of Ft-Wayne Avenue, fbg widening the roadway, by
. constructing curbs on both sides and paving the roadway between the
present roadway and the new curbs, with one of the following kinds
of pavements, to-wit : Reinforced Concrete ; Sheet -Asphalt ; Rock Asphal
or Bituminous Macadam, from 1st alley north of Main Street to North
" C" Street; as follows to-wit :

No paving other than Reinforced Concrete, having been bid on, the
Board now designate that said roadway be paved with reinforced con-
crete, and D. G. Burkhardt 's bid being the lowest received and being
within the estimate o_ f city civil engineer, the contract was on :}sot io
awarded to Daniel' G. Burkhardt .
. The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No. 885-1929
for Sanitary sewer in the territory, between Southwest 1st Street e
and Whitewater Boulevard and between Southwest "D" & " E" Street as
follows, to-wit :

The Board -received bids under I-tiproveMent Resolution No.f6-
1929, for the i-inproveme -_t of dodge Street , from Southwest 1st
Street to White 'eater Boulevard; and Southwest 1st Street, from
Southwest H5U to IIEN Street, by constructing cement sidewalks
41 Vide, cement curb & tatter of standard width, planting of
trees on oath sides of said streets, grading and paving the
roadway with "one of the following kinds of pavements; Sheet
Asphalt, Rock Asphalt, Bituminous Macadam retread or Reinforced
Concrete and construction of drains and structures as follows,
to-wit :

The Board now enters its preliminary order, designating that
said roadways be n2vin` with reinforced concrete.
Various complaints received from council, :,sere referred to
Street Co l.iissioner for investigation and report, Street Com-
missioner was directed to repair the intersection at the alley
running east from North ' id Street at 22nd Street, between
