The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday March L1th, 1929, at 9' o 'clock A. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Reid, McFail and Henley being present . The- following proceedings were had, to-wit : - Upon the recoailendation of Fire Chief, the Board accepted automobile I/ ' • pumping engine and hose carrier with booster ecuinment , Model G-W- 75-4 Reg.4 5022, capacity 750 gal.per. min. , the same having been delivered to the City by The Ahrens-Fox Fire Engine Co. , of Cincin- nati, Ohio. , Motor & Pump operated satisfactory, without overheating and- with plenty of reserve as reported by the Indiana. Inspection • Bureau. In matter of remonstrance filed against the improvement of South"'_," Street, from South 5th to 8th Street as provided for under Improvement .Resolution No. 8 2-1929, The Board decides that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the' cost of same, and thereupon confirm said resolution. The Engine- er reported that seven of the ten resident property owners residing on said street, had signed the remonstrance. The Board can proceed no further with said improvement unless ordered by an ordinance of the Common Council so to do, and the Clerk was directed to prepare an ordinance & submit the same to council for their action in the • matter. The Board received a remonstrance signed oy 22 resident owners remora• strating against the construction of ,cement curb & s-Yutter on North 22nd Street , from Main to North "E" Street, under Improvement Reso- lution No. 8 7-1929j as modified by the Board by striking out that part of the improvement along the Park property. This having; been found to be a large majority of resident owners remonstrating, the _ Board on motion rescinded said resolution. The Board received co rmunication from. T . J . Lewis 11&1207 South 8th Street, as to certain existing conditions at South " L" Street east of 8th• Street , the same was referred to Street Commissioner. The En_ineer was directed to prepare plans and specifications for painting of Doran & North 10th Street bridges, and the clerk was directed to advertise for bid for said work .
