Thursday February lL1th, 1929.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
• in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday February
14th, 1929, at 9 o ' clock A. M. All the members of said Board,
Messrs, Reid, McFail and Henley being present . The following pro-
ceedings were had, to-wit :
The Board met to hear remonstrances, if any of persons whose proper-
ty is affected under Improvement Resolution No. 8 5-1929, for im-
provement of the territory between Southwest 1st Street -& Whitewater
Boulevard and Southwest "D" & "E" Streets, for the construction
of a Sanitary Sewer. No one objecting and no remonstrance received
the Board decides that the benefits to the property liable to be
assessed for said improvement are equal to the cost of same, and
thereupon take final action on said resolution, the same being
confirmed without modification.

The Board met to hear all persons interested or whose property is
affected under Improvement Resolution No. 886-1929, for the im-
provement of Dodge Street, from Southwest 1st Street to Whitewater
Boulevard, and Southwest 1st Street, from Southwest"D" to "E" Street
by constructing cement sidewalk 4+ ' wide, curb & gutter & planting
trees on both sides of said streets ; also grading & paving the road-
ways with one of the following kinds of modern city peve:nents, viz :
Sheet Asphalt ; Rock Asphalt, Bituminous Retread or Reinforced Con-
crete between the points named on said streets . After hearing all
Persons interested who appeared and no remonstrance having been
filed. The Board decides thet ;the benefits to the property liable
to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the cost of same,
and thereucon take final action on said improvement, the same being
confirmed without modification.
The Board met to hear all persons interested or whose property is
affected under Declaratory Resolution No. 228-1929, to widen Ft-
++ayne Ave . 5 ' from -resent street line at Lots 9, 10 & 21, J. Cox ' s
addition. Whereas, W.G.& S.B .Huffman, have signed agreement to re-
move ouilding at any time said street -is widened 5 ' and E, A. `iiiarie.ni
verbally agreed. that in the event of his constructing a building
on his lot, he would set back 5 or more feet . The Board on motion
rescinded said resolution.
The Building Inspector, Wee directed not to issue any permit for
new building on Ft-Wayne Ave. between 1st alley north of Main and
North " C" Street, unless said building was set back at least 5 ft .
. from present lot line.
The Board received bids for gathering all city trash, ashes, ruboish
etc. , {
Rocco DeVito, bid, for one year only ---- - ` 32, 532.00
" Lee Ridgeway, bid; at $33, 995 00 per year, for one or three years.
--"Nolte & Schnieder, bid--- 5l, L00. 00 per year.
All bids taken under advisement for further investigation.
The Board then adjourned,
