The Board of Public Works of the City of Dachmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday February llth 1929, at 9 o 'clock A.M. All the members "of 'said Board, Messrs, Reid, McFa_il -a.nd Henley, being present ; the following proceedings were had, to-wit : A recommendation was received from Metropolitan Police Commissioners recommending a "Stop & Go" traffic light at corner of South 8th _& "E" Street . The "Clerk was directed to inform ' said commissioners their is no available. funds to install such light at this time. The Board app-roved a final assessment roll, for the improvement of South " L" Street by grading the north one-half of street , from South 9th to 12th Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 578-1928, and directed the same be forthwith transmitted ta Department of Finance. The Light Plant Sun 't . , was authorized to purchase truck for light plant use, to replace the old worn out Dodge truck . The Enwineer was instructed to prepare resolution to peen alley be- tween South 12th & 13th Street , from South "H" Street, south. • The Board met pursuant to continuance to this date, to hear all per- sons interested or whose property is affected under Improvement Resolution No. 883-1929, for the improvement of West Avenue, by con- structing cement walks, curb & gutters & planting trees on both sides thereof, and paving the roadway with either Sheet Asphalt ; Reinforced Concrete ; Rock Asphalt or Bituminous Macadam, from IThtion Road to south line of City School Property. A..r emonstrance having been filed which upon examination was found to. contain a '??alority in number of resident property owners, the Board modify said resolution by elimi- nating sidewalks on east side of street, and as modified unanimously confirmed the resolution, and now order an ordinance prepared and -presented to co ...:on council recommending the improvement be made over the remonstrance of property owners . The Board met pursuant to continuance to this date, to hear all per- sond interested or whose property is affected under Improvement Re- solution No. 884-1929, for improvement of Ft-Wayne Ave, by setting back the curb and paving the roadway between the_ old roadway and new curb with either Reinforced Concrete, Sheet Asphalt , Rock Asphalt or Bituminous Macadam, from 1st alley north of Main Street to North " C" Street, no remonstrance having beenf- led, the Board decide that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said improve- ments are equal to the cost of same and thereupon take final action on said resolution the same being confirmed without :modification. The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No.888-1929, providing for the improvement of Hilda Street, by constructing cement sidewalks and curb & gutters on both sides of street, from East Haven Avenue to the west terminal of street . The Street Commissioner,wa.s directed to constructed new fence at property line of Thos . Ryans property at approach to C . & 0 hail- road bridge across South 9th Street . ' Monday February llth, 1929. 237 The Board accepted articles of dedication, dedicating to the City for street purposes, five ( 5' ) foot of ground off of the east end of lots lying on the west side of South 9th Street, between the first alley south of Main Street and South "A" Street ; signed; . by John W. Mueeler, Novembe-r 17, 1928, Lot No. 6, Clem & Ruby Nichols, November 26, 1928, Lot No. 27-8.-. Joseph M. Bulla, Ada C. Bulla, Clarence C. Brown, Carrie M. Brown, Albert F. Sittloh, I Louis B. Campbell, Emma C. Campbell, Lots, 20-21-24-25 & 27, December 7th, 1928, Mills-Feltman Realty Co. , Lot 23, December 28, 1928, all in C. W. Starr ' s; 8th Addition, the Board directed the Clerk to have said dedications recorded in the office of Wayne County, • Indiana , Recorder. The Board accepted a- reecnent signed by W. Grant Huffman and Sue Belle Huffman husband and wide of Richmond, Indiana , aEreein. that if per- mission is granted to erect a building to the present street line on Fort Wayne Avenue at Lots No. 9 & 10, in Jeremiah Cox ' s, addition to the city of Richmond, that if the city will discontinue- condem- nation proceedings condemning the ground at this time, that in the event the said street is ever widened over and across said lots, they will as the owners of said real estate, without any claim for damages or compensation therfore and without any expense to said city, dedicate 5 foot of said real estate as described in said articl of agreement for street purposes. And said owner further agrees that at such time he will upon notice from said City remove any building and all obstructions of every kind whatsoever then on said. real estate, said dedication and said removal of any building or other obstruction all to be done by said owner without any expense whatever to the City of Richmond, Indiana. The Clerk was directed to have said articles of agreement recorded in the Office of the Recorder of Wayne County, Indiana. A petition was received for sanitary Sewer in a proposed alley between South 12th & lth Street, from South "H" Street,• south same was taken under advisement. Claims in amount of ;) 56g. 76 were allowed. • - Contractors certificate -; 7 , in amount of 0_500.00 was issued to J . F. Hipskind, contractor under Improvement ResolutionNo.878-1928.
