Monday January 28th, 1929 .
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana., met in
regular session at the office of said Board Monday January 25th,
" 1929, at 9 o'clock A. M. Messrs, Mcl+ail and Henley present ; Mr.
Reid; absent. Two members of said. Board being present. The fol-
lowing proceedings were had, to-wit ;
The matter of opening South "H" Street, east of South 12th Street
was referred to City Planning Com.:tission.
Permission was granted The Remley Theatre Co . , to construct an
imitation dug-out made of sawdust filled sacks 2ft . wide 6f t .
long & ---ft , high, to advertise show at Ritz Theatre, the same
to be protected by light at each end of same.
Byron W. Long, was appointed a member .of Fire Department .
Suet . , of Light Plant was instructed to install arc light at
corner of NW. 5th & Chestnut Street and at South 5th & " I" Streets.
Tile Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 229-1929 .
to vacate that part of Center Street , running east from Northwest
2nd Street .
-The Board accented improvement as reported completed _by the city
civil -engineer, Improvement 192c,Resolution No. 864— for the im-
provement of South " L" Street, from -South 5th to 9th Street, and'
approved the primary assessment roll for the cost of same.
The Board received request from A. A. Reinhardt requesting to be
relieved of the payment of SpSL;.4c, assessed against lot 42 in
C . 7'.Sells 1st Addition, to City, as this lot is already tapped
into sewer, upon investigation it was found that a Mr. Toney
Klingenbeil, who formerly owned this property when the same was
outside the corporate limits of the City, illegally tapped into
sewer in alley, after the city had received the information, Mr.
Klinginbiehl agreed to pay for said tap equal to the amount paid
by property in the city which was assessed for said sewer, but
as he had not complied with his agreement , the Board refused to
set aside the assessment, and now insist that the assessment of

54.48, is .a just assessment against said as shown by the
assessments made for the construction of the Clear Creek Trunk
& Lateral Sewer, and is a legal and just lien against said lot .
The Board then adjourned,
